Fleeting should be fun, but it unbalances the battles big time - please fix

    Hi Devs,

    You probaby already know, but fleeting is something inherent to this game. I already posted a thread about it before, but it still is not fixed and it drives me nuts. So many fleeting battles have I lost, just because it is unbalanced, not because we were worse than them. So, should I now avoid any fleeting? Isn't fleeting just one of the things which makes this game great?

    Here just a few examples, but just 5 minutes ago I had another one, from the board I see immidately we are going to lose. Just some much stronger than us.

    Please fix this!

    It is really getting frustrating this fleeting problem. Both battles we could have won easily if the balance was right.

    When you fleet, matchmaking counts the lower infamy player as being the same as the higher infamy player. This is to prevent abuse.

    Fleeting works best if you fleet with someone who is close to you in infamy.

    It works better, but still it unbalances the matchmaking negatively a lot of the times, look at this (of course we were going to lose, like most fleeting battles):

    Here a new one, we are close to each other, only he has a mk3 and I an mk4, but matchmaking is messed up again. Almost impossible to win or is that the purpose, that we lose so much?

    Better not to fleet anymore, most fleeting battles result in a loss!

    Sorry, I’m not really seeing it. All those games look okay to me (I’m often the only mk5 in my games anyway). Fleeting is actually quite a big advantage if you work well together.

    Maybe you just need to find a fleet buddy who you can coordinate better with.

    Sadly, fleeting with someone with a infamy span that wide as in some of these screenshots is asking for trouble :(
    The difference between 1400 inf and 600 inf is huge.

    It also helps having complementary builds and strategy.

    The other thing (with fleeting) is considering where each players infamy range is.
    For example player A and player B fleet together.
    Player A infamy range 2000 to 2500
    Player B infamy range 1800 to 2300
    If player A’s infamy is higher than Player B’s normal infamy range (say 2400) then fleeting will not be very successful.

    However, say player A is at 2000 infamy (ie within player B’s infamy range) and player B is not close to the top of his infamy range, then fleeting should be very beneficial.

    It’s better than having a 600 infamy player in a 300 infamy game due to abuse.

    I would much prefer to have the 300 infamy player to be in a 600 infamy game.

    Maybe we could make the infamy max fleeting gap smaller? From 800 to idk, 500? This might get many complaints though like every update.

    The acceptable range of fleeting infamy needs to be reduced a bit.
