Nerf Shooter Thread!

    that is not the main problem
    in lower arenas people can only dream about getting a legendary from the achievements
    so once the game gives them shooter to easily sit behind and lob mortars why should they switch?
    they just want to focus on red weapons and dont care about yellow/green ones
    at higher infamies they realize how effective other ships can be and probably switch
    so if a beginner sees everyone play shooter they will feel like shooter is stronger than the rest
    do u see where this is leading?

    All ships should be available from the start in my opinion. Instead of just the shooter.

    Or maybe, burning enemy cannon damage should conflict with shooter hp in Bhurt's talent tree.

    But do u know that Firebomb already clashes a lot with Big Shield and Ship Hp?
    Still see people using both Big Shield and Firebomb uses full Firebomb talents from Brock talent tree.

    Or how about my second suggestion? Where flame combo damage on Bhurt's talent tree conflicts with shooter hp?

    My biggest issue is with the current spammy firebomb situation, trading the fire bonus damage for hp might be a step too far.

    Thats BS, when I started playing, there were no legendry achievements, there weren’t even Guild Quests, and Shooters were still 90% of the ships down there. I was mk5 before before I started seeing ships that weren’t red, and even now they’re a minority.

    Obvious selection bias. The top 10 is, arguably, populated by the most skilled players in the world. Skill requirement is a component of balance.

    Look at a weapon like Big Torpedo, it does huge damage compared to a Cannon, because it’s assumed to be less accurate, it’s a ‘skill’ weapon.

    If we take ‘skill’ to its logical conclusion, where a player is ‘so skilled’ that they have 100% accuracy with Big Torp, then they will obviously, vastly, outdamage a player using Cannon. But that doesn’t mean Cannon needs to be buffed until it does the same damage as Big Torp. That would make Cannon insanely OP for everyone else in the game.

    That is the case with Shooter. Below the top 200, Shooters outnumber all the other ships combined. And the reason for that is because they’re able to get consistently good results for very little effort or skill. There are no Nitros to time, no stuns to juggle, virtually no cooldown to worry about, all you need to do is camp and shoot, and with that very basic strategy they are able to dominate every other ship, in all but the most skilled hands.

    Don’t get me wrong, there are skilled Shooters too. If you’re able to stick with your team, position yourself well, and choose the right weapons at the right moment, you can get a lot out of the ship, but most Shooters don’t do that.

    They’re going off on their own, spamming torps and FB (barely even aiming), and then they’re still able to obliterate dedicated duelling builds like Speeders and Enforcers, with double ECs (on top of their three other weapons).

    Shooter is ridiculously OP. IMO it needs a significant hp and defense nerf so that players actually have to think carefully about their loadout and position. That would also massively improve the game, because Shooters are the primary source of all the annoying spammy BS like FB and Torps.

    At the moment, they aren’t being forced to play well. Shooters don’t have teammates, they have supporters: just other ships who they only look at after the game, to check their damage, and complain about. That’s why there are so many terrible Shooter players. Every other ship has to watch the map and play as a team. You don’t get many terrible Speeder players, because terrible Speeders die very quickly, then they give up, and play Shooter. Terrible Shooters, however, can noob their way all the way into Nightmare.

    Shooters are like a cancer to the game. So many of my games are 90% red ships, all camping and spamming, eachother to oblivion.

    For the love of all that’s good, someone please nerf this terrible plague on the bay already!

    Reduce the red slot point from 8 to 7, all done. Shooter is the only boat with 12 slot points while the rest is 11. Reduce the red point to 7 so they can carry 2 weapons with 2 pts and 3 single point weapon. No more FB and big torp spamming.

    You don't get to dictate what or how people play. There's a reason why it's called a shooter... it shoots. 8 Slot Points.

    1. Has most slot points in the game
    2. Has second most health in the game
    3. Can get legendary weapons easily from achievements
    4. Gets a lot of rewards due to high average damage
    5. Does not require a lot of skills whereas the other ships require more
    6. Virtually no cooldown to wait for most of the times
    7. Easy to get duplicates because red items are the most common
    8. Able to equip three two-slot items while still having enough slots left for two one-slot items
    9. Benefits from majority of updates
    10. Second highest defense in the game
    11. Easy to get perks for it because most perks are weapon perks
    Neutral:
    1. 3rd highest speed in game along with enforcer
    2. Medium-sized hitbox
    Cons:
    1. Many weapons results in talent tree conflicts
    2. Second lowest agility in the game
    3. No yellow items


    Can't imagine why people think it's op...

    I do agree that shooter/ all ships agilities should be adjusted based on ship role.
    However, I disagree with hp nerf because simply:
    • Speeder has 3 blue slots and u can easily reach 10k hp on mk7 with maxed epic shields + tshield = 18k+ hp.
    (actually u can reach 12k with triple shields/ not to mention tshields. u can reach 2.2 speed with maxed overboost.)
    • Mk7 Enforcer can easily reach 10k hp with dbl maxed epic shields + dbl bubbles = 25k+ total hp. (not to mention that it's actually so fast without using any turbo. u can reach 2.0 speed without turbo using only ur overboost)
    • Mk7 fixer can reach 11k hp with dbl std shields. self-healing ability... 18k+ total hp (speed around 2.0 with overboost.)
    • Shooter u can reach 12k hp with maxed shields / slow
    • Defender u can reach 23k hp with maxed shields / very slow / no useful weapons for defenders...

    Ships order based on Total hp is:
    • Enforcer
    • Defender
    • Fixer/Speeder
    • Shooter

    Actually shooter is the only ship that can stand against enforcer now because all other ships have to waste one-two shots on tshield. Defender will be left with one weapon (most probably he misses the target). Fixer/Speeder will be left with one weapon (or most probably none).
    (here comes the second bubble)
    Shooter is the only ship that does not mind wasting two-three shots to destroy both bubbles.
    I know that u (as an enfo) are facing problems in 1v1s against shooter with the new agility, but I believe that enforcer still have dbl advantage to win that fight.
    ...

    One more point: shooter is the most used ship not because it's op. it's simply because everyone use it in early stages of the game.
    Actually, everyone have to use it in early stages of the game.
    I recommend that u change the title from: "nerf shooter thread" to "we can't deal with shooter anymore thread" or "shooters can easily break my bubbles thread". Use ur imagination.
    Or maybe delete this thread because it's pointless.

    12k holp shooter is when you use two shields, not three, and the tesla shields do not give guaranteed more hp. It's not resistant to spash and non-airbone projectiles and it doesn't always block something. Self healing cannot count toward hp either because there is no way of telling how long the ship will survive to use it. And defenders can reach 27k. Idk about the other ships though.

    Shooter and defender have to use a turbo. The maximum hp of defender is 23k-24k (im not going to discuss this because it's just the limit)

    Im a PRO and I disagree with PROs part. Remove it or at least ask a PRO before speaking instead of them.
