For the last few months after a new challenge starts team rankings suddenly skyrocket. I have a few chat friends that have admitted to me they jump into guilds after the beginning and the matchups are complete so they will get an easier matchup and then dominate the challenge. Please put a stop to this! My team does not want to play an unfair game. My team is not cheating and has not received the rewards we deserve because of cheaters.

You are talking about guild rivalries?
People join inactive guilds the round before so that when the rivalry starts the opponents are weak and they can easily get 42000 trophies?

If people join AFTER the rivalry starts, that player will NOT get the token rewards. They will get the ones from completing quests though. This is in place to support members from staying with the guilds and minimize guild hopping. People will still move from guild to guild and that cannot be stopped. I expect it would be very difficult to prove they are "cheating". It doesn't seem like there is any game advantage other than feeling good about a win.

Why would they jump? They won't receive any winnings for the round after jumping.

They know they are forgoing the trophy dump at the end and they are ok with that. They alternate between members so they get the end reward from time to time. I’m sure the Devs could research and see what’s happening. It is happening! Just this morning 3 teams that mine was matched up against jumped multiple hundreds in their ranking immediately after matchup was set.

They are ok with the individual quest rewards and board cleared rewards. They only lose the end dump. Also they alternate from time to time.

If they dont care about the end rewards then there is no benefit to switching?
They would earn the same cleared board rewards if they didnt jump?

They jump out of their guild right before the end of a challenge, their guild ranking goes down, new challenge starts and they are matched up with let’s say a ranking of 500, the members join again and their ranking jumps into the 200’s. Now they are dominate because it was an engineered miss-match.

They earn the quest rewards and board cleared rewards. They do not get the end reward. They alternate so they get the end reward every other challenge or so.

Rivalries are based upon number of quests previously completed, not ranking or infamy

If that is true I have two thoughts.
    1) How is it working for them?
    2) I have noticed they jump between guilds as well. Could they be jumping between different guilds to game that system? Switching to get better matchups?

There is one way the system can be exploited but for obvious reasons I will not post it here as it causes more people to look for said loopholes.
All I will say is that the mechanics of how guild rivalries currently work is on Rovio's radar to see if some tweaks can be made to make the system more fair.

Seems like a good start is no rewards at all unless you were on the guild before challenge started. Maybe unless it’s your first time joining a guild. This would make switching a big decision and you pay your dues for a week or so to make a change. Just an idea, I managed large groups of people for many years and the key to success is a fair playing field. I’ve had some really good players quit the game all together because of this. Fair is very important.
