Defenders drop to 3%. RIP

Poor defender. When I’m in NML I’m going to play defender as much as I can to improve this stat to at least 3.1% (so underloved that it didn’t even get a decimal point in the stats).

I’m assuming this is only ranked battles and not events? I see a lot more in events I think.

 

It’s just what’s equipped today, and today there is no event, tomorrow or will change again because of the event.

I just started leveling up my blastian, but once it’s complete I will return to defender

 

I went to bb-stats to learn more about that data (great site actually). Sadly, now that I understand it, it seems that I’m not really going to be in a position to save the defender’s sagging stats even when I’m in NML.

.... but I’ll keep playing it sometimes anyway because I like it despite its flaws.

Best way to buff defender is to allow all talents to be activated in the talent tree. You'll see a 25K hp defender floating around.

 

I knew we could get defender a little higher if we tried. Up over 40% in use over yesterday.
(Still last place though ...)

 

Last time people tried to make enforcers viable by continously asking to buff it. You all know what happened then.

 

Defender is fun as shit this event. I tried it first thing

 

I love it. If more people tried it defender would go up in the rankings for sure. It’s like being the quiet chubby little kid who shows up to his high school dance and suddenly starts breakdancing and spinning on his head. Moves that seem to defy physics and logic.

 

It's pretty dope. The hateful yellow boats can only run out of range.

 

This was a point I made a while ago: Yes, Defender has a really high HP pool. I get it. But does that mean it has to be literally the worst at EVERYTHING ELSE? It has to be the slowest, have the worst turning, the shittiest turret speed? It's especially brutal now when strong weapons and perks are just becoming more and more common, meaning your hot 12-15k HP vanishes pretty quick unless the other team is too stupid to focus you down.

 

Also the biggest and therefore easiest to hit.

 

Yep, that one too. I actually have a rudder to give myself half a chance at dodging torps and I have lost count of how many times I thought for SURE I was gonna skate past the torp but took a giant chunk of my health. I honestly suspect the hitbox is slightly larger than the actual model.

 

It's not, that myth has been busted multiple times. When you already seem to be out of the danger zone but still take damage, that's a latency issue, not hitbox. Happens with all ships and weapons. The fact that people think it's worse with defender is confirmation bias.
