railguun being overused in events, so are bubbles

    heres my reason, people in events were using it too much, it was the direct 'water' to the 'fire'

    heres my nerf to both of them.

    railgun: slower projectile, higher base dmg, and a lower upgraded dmg
    thhis makes railgun a bit weaker, but for lower levels, itll still dish out enough dmg
    also, people hardly aim railgun, its not really needed at med range, so this nerf should make people lead their shots further.

    bubble: bubble will add hp onto you for a limmited time: but itll be buffed:

    no this isnt op, hear me out

    when you activate bubble, youll get about 100 hp onto your 5k hp, thats 6k total.
    you activate another, and you get 7k
    the bubble will make your ship a 'teeny' larger, so your hitbox is bigger.
    meaning that the bubble is more translucent and small.

    people can shoot it as normal, except when the bubble wears off, your hp is reduced by how much it carries

    but wouldne that be sucky?
    yes, but heres to banace it:

    bubble will last 8s+, meaning you can get a least 3 shots before wearing down.

    bubblwl will give you take 10% less dmg.

    so heres the new bubble recap:
    bubbles will give you added temporary hp, which will make your battles longer,
    the bubble hp can be healed, so you wont die
    but then the bubble will wear off, which makes you take alot of damage.
    the bubble damage will carry over, and you get - the bubble hp

    good part is: youll fight longer (with the extra hp) - more dmg dished out
    youll actually take 10% less dmg for a while

    bad part is:
    say you have 2hp, and you put a bubble that does 2hp and the persons carro does 3hp, the bubble will die, and youll take 1dmg












    OR SKIP THE TOP HERES ANOTHER IDEA:

    bubble willl give you temporary hp, but the bubble will last less time (4<)
    but damage is capped when its broken (say you have 1000 bubble, and a railgun hits you for 1200, the extra damage wont be carried)
    dont comment, i put lots of effort, about 10 min









    EVENT RECAP:
    the railgun wont melt as much

    the bubble will make you die, but you can still do more dmg (first idea)

    the bubble has to be more precisely timed (2nd idea)

    Different events use different items... The best suggestion for Telsa Shield is any overflow damage should be applied to the ship. Railgun has a huge cool down and damage is nerfed at close range, and waves are its enemy, so I'm just not sure Railgun needs tweaking. What kinds of situations are you seeing?

    whatd you mean railgun is weak up close?
    it does like 1000 dmg when i can touch the enemy ships!

    i see.. your post and mine...
    except in battle, bubbles are common, and i wrote this because of a post
    ---said bubbles and railgun were overused, so heres a balance

    You're more likely to see an event-specific nerf, such as "mine duration being reduced in CTF" rather than game-wide.

    And Railgun is a reaction to Tesla use. That doesn't make it deserving of a nerf/buff, it just means that's the cycle of rock-paper-scissors. If no one was running Bubble, I'd stop running Railgun.

    I know its up close 1000 damage, and its nothing. i use Railgun and Carronade.

    A T5R Railgun does 1603 based damage, only half of that at close range. A T5R BC does 1007 damage per shot and you can fire twice in the time you can fire Railgun once... and that doesn't include crit or fire damage increases that can put a single BC shot over 2000. Maybe Railgun needs a buff rather than a nerf? :)

    What are you even talking about? Railgun's cooldown is insane, the high damage is supposed to be a thing. Just be happy it does percentage based less damage up close because let me tell you it didn't use to be like that

    Seriously you are complaining about railgun being op? Let me remind you about some facts:
    - 20 sec cooldown is insanely high and that makes the railgun dps very mediocre. Of course one hit must be high damage if the weapon only fires three times a minute.
    - it's not easy to hit target at 100 % damage range. Railgun projectile has zero arc which makes it very vulnerable to waves. That greatly reduces the number of opportunities to actually land a hit.

    Side note: I also disagree with your tesla shield changes. They sound just ridiculous.

    There’s lots of good ideas for a Tesla Shield nerf that doesn’t totally change the mechanics of the item. My favorite is piggy-backing off the Tesla Stun resistance. If you activate your second shield too quickly after your first (10s, 2x duration, whatever) then you get half HP. If your shield gets broken then that “Tesla Shock” time gets doubled. That would keep Enfos from being able to near constantly rotate their shields.
