Why spam mines?

why do people spam mines?? Seriously, I know it's fun, but you're the only one having fun there, because everyone else is pounding their legs ( or a hopefully soft surface that doesn't damage you. I pound leg because bed is uncomfortable. I'm fine though, don't worry. My arm is a toothpick) because they are being killed. My opinion on mine spammers:

They are idiots who don't know how to play the game, and they get rewarded for their low intelligence. They shouldn't be. I've seen a lot, and believe me, it's messed up whether you're shooter or speeder. You're ruining the experience for those who actually have skill and don't need to spam mines. Even trip sniper setups require more skill that mine spamming, and at least you need to see your opponent. Stop mine spamming and get a damn brain.

 

Your negativity and name calling is really unneeded and does nothing to support your gripe. That being said...

If you didn't run into the mines, you would not be writing this. Sounds like the technique is working and has merit. I have seen boats carry 3 mines and get zero damage. Skill is needed for mines to be useful. Placement is key. Your brain-dead criticism is just false.

I can write the same seething post about big torp users or snipers or any number of so-called "cheap" tactics. These are in the game, serve a purpose and need to be learned how to be used effectively and avoided effectively.

Please recast your post in the positive and title it "HELP! I keep running into mines and I don't know how to stop" And players can give you some tips for avoidance. Happy fleeting!

 

he is talking about spammers (2 mine or more) not about mine itself anyway if there is a double mine speeder in the enemy team then you have to focus on shooting his team and avoiding enemy's shots or avoiding his mines , and i can avoid mines it is not hard but (probably ) my team dont know that and they hit mines and maybe i take damage (splash) too ,

and also they just mine important places and you can't get there (making it much more harder for you to win , unless you are a SC spammer (do you use 2 sc on a shooter like many many other shooters ? ) )

 

2 Tips for mine spammers ( to negate them)

Target them once you recognize them.
If you are defendo and fixer is in team, sweep up and let fixer heal you. Probably not very good idea tho.

 

I have my own opinion of mine spammers. You have your own.

And I almost never run into mines. Unless they are EXTREMELY well hidden or I miscalculate my ability to outrun arming, I don't run into them.
But when I see someone spamming mines, I get extremely pissed off because I want people to use their skill for something rather than something that DOESNT require skill. Point being: spamming mines is for idiots.

No, I do not use sniper. I use ex, blast, flare, firebomb. And I will never use SC. I don't like letting RNG decide how much damage I deal, and I'm not lazy enough to not lead my shots.

Just because people use mines, doesn't mean they have low intelligence. They could just be using mines because they want to, but they may be smarter and more skilled than you.

Also, our brains are for thinking, not our heads. Our heads are for protecting the brain.

 

I personally feel people who hit those mines definitely have lower intelligence than those who throw them. Isn't that obvious?

 

People spam mine to get quest done quicker, thats all

 

As a "mine spammer" myself.
My best setups that have taken me to highs of 3300 infamy on a MK5 speeder are:
Double Mine (with damage and RANGE perks)
Explosive/Blast Cannon Combo

When I run two mines, I certainly am not "mine-spamming". My first two mines ALWAYS go to the most common choke point for the enemy team spawn point for a particular map. I also take into account whether the other team has speeders/fixers. The enemy team ship makeup and my experience over 11000 battles tell me where I starting placing my next mines. Some guys you see just flipping mines along their path of movement, but a lot of us don't just flip mines anywhere. I can't tell you how many times I kill somebody in the first 45 seconds of battle on Wayward Pains, Chill Zone, Drop Dead Gorge and Damage Depot because I know where to put the first two mines down.
Also, I consider the double-mine speeder to be the WORST ENEMY of a unfriendly team with a fixer. If i'm running double-mine and the other team has a fixer and the friendly team doesn't, I believe we win 60% of those battles. Any other weapon setup, and the advantage goes to the team with the fixer. So sometimes I am literally in the middle of a scrum of 5 enemies turning their turrets around and every second I give my team to fire shots without taking damage to themselves moves the advantage to our team getting the victory.

I typically only run double-mines a few days per week, or unless we have a Mine Quest. Otherwise I use whatever weapons our quests that week call out for.

 

Spam mines??? Well 59-60k mine damage seems spam worthy for me!

Strategic placement gets it done faster, just use one mine.

I've used mines before, had a spammer on my team. Guess who got more damage? Me, because I placed the mines strategically.

Favorite places:
Around corners
Where they can't be seen by oncoming people
Smack dab in the middle ( when I just don't feel like letting someone in too easily)

 

At that point people are purposefully running into mines. Mines ( at epic T5) deal around 5000 damage. People running into 11-12 mines is pretty nuts. Impossible actually, unless the team has 2 or 3 fixers ( or it's an entire team of selfish fixers, imagine that. Would be fun to watch. More likely tedious.)

 

That's how I like people to place mines: strategically. I just really hate it when people spam mines. However your technique is fine with me, because you have some very strategic placement.

What I like to see in mines users:

Strategic placement
Using only 1 or 2 mines. ( if using 2, please don't spam)
Eating beans ( so they can toot out mines [i know, bad fart joke].)

 

Someone can still strategically spam mines. If they're skilled.

 

I don't think spamming and strategy go together.

Spamming is just throwing them everywhere without a particular strategy.
