Introducing bb-stats.com: the ultimate guide to the Battle Bay metagame!

Hello everyone!
Some of you may remember me from my Item Popularity Snapshot that I posted forever ago. Well, I'm happy to announce that those snapshots will now be a thing of the past. Introducing BayStats!
BayStats is your one-stop shop for item and ship popularity data. It shows all of the same data that could be found in one of my Snapshots, but in a much prettier format. And, more importantly, it updates daily!
Here are some questions you can answer with just a few clicks:

• Which red/blue/yellow/green item is being used the most by top players?
• How popular is each ship?
• On which of the five ship types is Item X most popular?
• Which items are Ship Y's favorite?

Best of all, since the database updates daily, you can track shifts in the meta during weekend events! There's an info bar at the top of the screen, so you always know exactly when the data was pulled.

Website is way too awesome! specially that color combination you had there...I have also learnt Web designing and the toughest part is that color combination....Else writing piece of code is no big deal

 

Negative point of that website is that it loads slowly so i better suggest reduce the resolution of the pics you have used their!

HOW?
is it updated automatically (if yes, how you did that?), or you are just so dedicated player, that you update in manually?

 

It's a mixture of both. I have to manually initiate the process daily. But once I've initiated it, it's all automatic. I won't disclose the exact methodology.

There are a few images that I forgot to compress (which I'm working on right now). Otherwise most of the images are actually quite small already.

Is it just top 50?

 

Pretty awesome that the data is updated automatically so we don't need to wait for monthly snapshots anymore. Could we get some cool graphs that show item popularity change over multiple weeks/months?

 

The dataset is always 200 or more NL players. However, they are not strictly the top 200 players in the world; they are just 200 players distributed randomly throughout NL.

This is next on my to-do list!

Quick question so do the percentages that go over 100%, does this mean that players are using more than one on their boat at once?

 

That is correct! For this reason, items like Repair Pulse tend to have exorbitant use rates; most fixers use more than one Repair Pulse in their setups.

 

Nice website! Any chance on expanding it beyond 200 NIghtmare?

 

Unfortunately, no. This is because my ability to collect data is limited by my game client’s ability to consistently access player profiles. It would take Rovio adding some sort of global player directory within the game before I could expand beyond NL.
