Just had this happen to them. It’s already hard beating a yellow boat in this event. He managed to draw the match and only the speeder gets rewards? Imagine his frustration after realizing that this has happened after several matches today. I’m beginning to dislike this game little by little. On top of that, you already know its a challenge by itself putting an Mk5 to take on an MK6, Smh. Do better Rovio.

Ok, I’m pretty sure this happened because he didn’t do any damage. I know, it might be really frustrating but I think it’s there to prevent people from just running away because they know the can’t win a match.

 

Well it isn't easy trying to big torp a speeder; and it's already quite impressive that he managed to run away from a speeder in a small map (Brawl Park). At least the fixer deserves a coin or two...

Only the devs know the full details of how matchmaking works, but as a general ‘rule of thumb’ you get matched based on your most powerful item, against ships with a similarly powerful item. So if a mk5 takes a single t5 Epic weapon, he’ll be matched against ships with t5 Epic weapons, which will likely be mk6-mk7s with t5 Epic everything.

The system was introduced to stop people sticking overpowered weapons on their low mk ships for easier matchups, where they can ‘one hit’ everyone.

I’m not saying it’s a good system, or that I like it, but that’s essentially how it works.

Yes, what I said is ‘not’ the whole story at all, which is why I said ‘as a general rule of thimb’.

If you’re getting ridiculously hard matches, then it is ‘probably’ because you have an unusually powerful item equipped. That’s my observation from trying out lots of different items on different boats.

If you’d like to elaborate more on what you have observed, then I’m not stopping you.

 

Another Guildmate, he won but for whatever reason the enemy who lost got the same amount of coins, what was even the point of winning then?

 

I’m pretty sure it’s because he delt more damage. The coins are awarded by if you won and your total damage.
