Reward Requirements:
You now purchase the Uncommon, Rare, and Epic perks, and then unlock the Legendary perk after spending enough coins.
Uncommon = 20
Rare = 120
Epic = 360
Legendary = 900
DO NOT SPEND YOUR COINS UNTIL YOU HAVE 900! COINS WILL ROLL OVER TO THE NEXT EVENT, BUT LEGENDARY METER WILL RESET.
Here is how I would spend my coins.. I am only interested in Epic and Legendary perks. I am saving my coins until I have 1800 coins and spending all at once. That way you don't waste any coins.
At 5 coins per game, that is 180 games required to earn a Legendary perk.
That is roughly 9 hours of gameplay (estimated average of 3-minute games).
Skilled players (also those who can capture consistently) should be able to get a Legendary perk in around 6 hours of gameplay.
Get out there and grind!
Overall Tips
- You do NOT earn stars for guild quest during this event!
- Capture gives more coins if you are helping in the zone. If your team is capturing, get in the zone or you will get the lowest coins.
- Matchmaking is based on "power". This is some sort of combination of Gear Score and Training. You are then balanced in-game based on infamy.
- Do NOT try to fool the matchmaker. It accounts for your under-leveled items and you'll be matched at a much higher gear score. I just went in at 7.6k gear score and it matched with 9 players all above 11k.
Gameplay Tips
- Cooldowns are decreased by 20%. Adjust your loadout to maximize your efficiency based on cooldowns (for example, use longer cooldown weapons like Explosive Cannon and Railgun).
- Every ship can do well in this event if played smart. Maximize your HP however you can. Bandages are not useful in this event.
- Defender with double Explosive Cannons or Railguns is probably the best setup.
- Try to run your most reliable, meta setups. You'll be matched against evenly geared opponents, so if their weapon is more reliable, they will probably win.
- Try to finish off weak ships as fast as possible. They will respawn and kill them again. You can kill a 4k health Enforcer 3x rather than a 12k heath Defender once... makes a big difference.
Capture Tips
- Capture no longer resets on damage. Napalm and Mines (and maybe mortars) are going to be important to kill those in the zone.
- If you are capturing, STAY IN THE ZONE! If you go in and out, you reset your contribution.
- Be careful about rushing to sit in capture zone at the beginning on most maps. You make yourself an easy target. Wait until the right time to capture.
- If your opponents are focused on capturing, use the capture zone as a kill box.
- Watch out for quick captures on Chillzone!
- If the enemy team is close to capturing, you can enter the capture zone to pause any progression and give your team more time to kill them.
- Try to kill the enemy who has been in the capture zone the longest. The percentage removed is based on how long that individual has been in the zone.
If you have any setups that worked well for the past two events that you'd like to share, please do so!
If anything changes for this event, I will update this post.
