I would get 1 T4 duct, because it gives more healing and you only have to click one to use the tapes and can use the extra slot to use a pulse or something

 

Youll get more out of a T4 rare & then using another healing item in the free slot.

what's better, one t2 rare tape or two lvl 10 rare tapes? have one epic and one rare healing boost perk and I have only two rare tapes right now

 

I’m curious why people would still play and opt for this “selfish” playstyle when it’s clearly less superior to being a proper fixer- anyone care to enlighten?

 

Because,
1. It's unique
2. You're practically indestructible if you play well
3. It's funny trolling the enemy team

Hmmm, I suppose being unique and for fun are acceptable but highly doubt it’ll ever make it to nightmare or even if it does, unlikely a high tiered one. I personally find it to be a burden

 

for fun, it's also superior in terms of tanking, it's funny to have stupid enemies who try to kill you when you can quickly regen any damage they do to you so your teammates can attack freely because enemies target you
you can assasinate or tank damage, clear the path for your teammates when there are mines and you need to get through, you can act as fast bodyguard for your teammates when they are going to get destroyed by enemy
it's effective in it's own way but I play it just for fun during events-returned to duct tape side this event and gonna stay here in every event unless something really changes (tape nerf, normal players appear, event that will be really easy for another ship etc.)

 

Fair point and I can concur but only up to a certain extent and depending on which league one is in probably. In nightmare and especially if unfriends know how to focus fire, you’re practically useless by just beaming yourself without benefiting anyone else who’re damaged :3

 

that's the reason why some carry double tape+pulse, you still get self regen from pulse while you can heal others
also nightmare is place which will stay unreachable for majority of players so that's not thing selfish fixers think about, you need almost maxed tapes to out-heal the big guns that are at high infamy so it's kinda hard to get there (my point of view)

 

Also the ones who use it say that they get more gold, suggar and star than a regular fixer and become less affectable by their teammates

 

that's the reason-PROPER FIXER
others expect fixers to have combination of three items (pulse, box, bolt) so there aren't many variants for setups especially when you want to be really effective
so selfish fixers just stand out of the grey world of fixers who have almost identical setups, we are unique and effective when we know how to play our variant of fixer, for some people it's funny to troll others

 

that's because damage has much higher value than fixing, selfish fixers deal much more damage than regular fixers therefor they get better rewards
normal fixers have no chance in 1v1 against enemies so they are affected by their teammates, selfish fixers can win 1v1 although they have only one weapon (until mk6) because they can regen their health with tapes so they can withstand more hits

 

I won't be surprised if there are some in nightmare! Selfish fixers are quite rare, so naturally good ones would be even tougher to find. Maybe it's just because you haven't seen a good one yet

 

in my opinion only bane of selfish fixer are burst damage weapons, nothing can save you from flare+ex cannon+blast (of course high level ones) when they have epic burn damage perks attached because the boosted burst of ex cannon and blast is just insane

 

Oh I’ve been in nightmare for quite a number of seasons with biweekly reset to see and be able to tell if there are any selfish fixers around the nightmare and the sad truth is none. Maybe a double tape pulse is as close as it gets but more commonly one tape I noticed more at nightmare league

 

Miku dayo leaving the game was kind of sad, he was the selfish fixer with 5k infamy points. I think other people rage was the main reason

 

Which goes to say tape fixers get rekt heavily especially in nightmare cause it’s common to get flared and blasted or EC-ed. It may seem fun in ace or masters league but almost irrelevant for a full selfish fixer in nightmare

 

He was indeed the only one with the skills to back himself up apparently. None other made it :/
