Mines

ive never once used a mine in game lol and have had a passionate hatred for those who do because at my lvl they never do any thing good and always loose if they end up the last one alive lol most of em tend to have the most annoying habits!
At higher infamy lvls I’m sure it’s different but down here I hate getting “those guys” on my team they’re so annoying

My first legendary item lol guess I’m gonna be won of those guys lol
I’ve gotta admit they’re a lot more fun then I ever thought they’d be lol even tho boats rarely run into them, thier like farting in bed, I can’t help but let out a little giggle every time I drop one

Any tips on using them? So I don’t end up one of “those guys” lol other wise your gonna find me after my teams all dead building a fortress in an isolated corner of the map

 

Depends on your boat. On my shooter I use them for a couple of things:

• If idle, I use them to set up a guard at my rear, or at side entrances. Helps deter any flanking yellows. In my games this seems to make a huge difference, I've more luck with mines than equipping a similar level carronade.
• If fighting close range I try to lob a couple behind the enemy, or in the direction a damaged enemy would flee in a hurry for cover. I run 3 epic range perks for this purpose. When it works, it's usually a game ender. Few fleeing boats can handle a 4-5k mine hit.
• If fighting around something (ex: middle column on some of the maps), I'll drop a few mines on one side, and then try to apply pressure from the other side. Many times you can push an enemy into your mines.
• Set traps on wrecks in bottlenecks. Especially useful if you're alone vs an enemy. Fight, pull back, if you're lucky he'll follow if he thinks he has the advantage.
• When fighting long range I usually ignore that weapon unless everything else is on cool down.

I never/rarely build large mine fields or mine castles, they're too easy to avoid. People just group up that area as "avoid this by all cost", and you'll get no hits. Handling single mines spread all over the place requires a much bigger mental overhead for the enemy. Pressure them, give them a high "task load" and they'll hit your mines eventually.

How much range do you have on yours?

 

you forgot placing them on grasses. at low tide they are almost unnoticable

 

I also use them as a great scare tactic if I'm in trouble and being chased. I let the chaser see me firing a mine in between me and the chaser so they have to swerve etc and gives me time to get away or they die if they run over it

 

11.7 at the moment, but I'm missing the +2 range from buzzkill lvl 30.

I just learnt a new trick lol only used it twice and worked both times.
I had a single mine left in an entrance and saw an enemy heading towards it, I knew it was just a matter of time till he saw it, so I lobbed a second one next to it in plain view hopping he'd rush past it before it arms lol worked perfectly with the first mine busting them up lol

Lol my shiny new mine hasn't really been doing for me until event started! A couple of hours in and I've more then doubled the damage I've done with it in the last 4 days lol
