infamy average instead of current for match making balancing?

    What if we take a persons average infamy over lets say "last 3 months" instead of their current infamy for balancing teams in tdm/match making?

    This intentional losing that some players are doing right before the event is not cool.

    For events this would fix those that use infamy manipulation.

    Or Use Season High Score.

    A person should Not be able to have their Cake and Eat it too. Gaming infamy for an easier Deathmatch.

    Cough...#1 player in the world last 5 seasons. Has the current highest score ever achieved in the bay of 6850.

    Now has dropped down to 3993 to get easier deathmatches. When this player or any player infamy manipulates... it violates fair play rules.

    Hint hint.

    IIRC infamy isn’t used for matchmaking in events. It’s only used for sorting the players into teams, so there probably isn’t a huge advantage to dropping infamy for events.

    But it is still used. And it' used enough to get better teams. Difference between -21 thru +28 level teams.

    And if u haven't tried it yet. It makes a difference. This event I was because of reset. 4k. Last event I was 4.5k verses, first event 4.8k.

    I can tell u for certain without trying to manipulate system that each event got easier. Because my infamy got lower. Gearscore doesnt determine everything. Then I read Miika' post about infamy being a factor and the light bulb went very bright. This is a tool players won't just manipulate. They will exploit. I have shared all my findings freely and immediately with developers for the hope they change this formula. And fix this loophole. American Maurader, Godlike and Bittersteel are talking to developers to fix this.
    The #1player I mentioned in original post. figured out being at 6850 was horrid for matchmaking in Deathmatch and he decided to get major advantage. Dropping to 3993. To do this means he had to lose a lot of games. Not all of this can be figured to reset. In 5 hours he lost from 4850 to 3993 magically the night before event.
    Question... what if Every player decides to do the same?
    What happens? Answer is...
    It will suppress lower players struggling to get even 1 star.

    By the way.... the games I played against the #1 player. Ended mostly as 0 stars or 1 star. That' how much he jacked me and friends team with his on purpose maniplutation. Each time he was the lowest infamy player on his team. While scoring the highest damage each match. Ps ...he has multiple Tier IV Legendary weapons on his shooter.

    I leave his name free of this forum post.

    But he is a bigger example of what players and guilds will do to get an leg up on others.

    Solution is infamy caps at season high. Or as O.P. poster Flynndawg wrote to keep a 3 month percentage cap on Infamy. This prevents major quick drops this player was able to manipulate.

    Deathmatch needs to be a skill match. Not a manipulation match.
    It's the most fun mode currently in the game. So let's keep it fair. And put caps in place to prevent this obviously Whack explotation.

    I know who you are talking about, and what you are saying is untrue. He didn’t drop infamy, he was just reset back to 4k, like the rest of Nightmare.

    As for your own matches getting easier. Rovio have been constantly tweaking the matchmaking algorithm, between (and even during) events. My games also got easier since the first week. That doesn’t mean it has anything to do with your infamy.

    Wrong. 1000% true. Reset happened. Then he raised to 4850. U can see his season high. It obvious. Then he dropped in 5 hours right before event to 3993. Plus his guild had half their members also drop same time. For the same purpose. Almost same drop amount. Know your facts. Plus this player went on VIP to defend his actions saying Player had Miika's Permission. Name dropping a Developer. As a reason why he and his guild were fine for dropping like that.

    And when I name drop any one. Like American Maurader and other youtube stars. These stars are all over this because the truth is obvious. And this is messed.

    One can't fall 800 with the gear this player has. Fact. Previous players who manipulated infamy were banned 14days. I am not a developer. Nor am I saying this player should be punished.

    I am saying there is an issue. Infamy Exploit. The loophole/ exploit has to be ended. Fact.

    The other option is to have a separate rating for the events. So infamy is infamy for ranked games but have some other value to determine skill in events.

    I’m sorry, but I thought that naming and shaming was against forum policy.

    Whilst @*JAWS* hasn’t directly named the person, he’s given enough hints for anyone to know who is being talked about. (If I say I’m talking about a president, who is a business man, who used to be on the Apprentice, people would know who I was talking about)

    If any manipulating has gone on, it’s now up to Devs to investigate. But this thread should be locked.

    Bigger goal is too finish off infamy's use in Deathmatch making making algorithm. Or to make my og examples infamy dropping action impossible for any ship to receive a benefit thru: solutions....more stringent caps on how a person highest infamy ever recorded or median infamy for 3 months... and reductions to benefits from any and all manipulations. Even using too mich lower of a mk ship when having way higher ones to choose from. All can be acheived. Now that we know what the exploits are. Hopefully developers can close loopholes.

    Goal is to have deathmatch become a skills based arena.

    Example player from above now to 5.4k top 10 league play. Did in 1/5 day. Amazing his skill. Will wonders ever end.

    Clearly shows events need to stop this rollercoaster from being successful way to game system.
