so there should be a 'cooler effect when you get shot'
i know it has already been buffed, heres an idea
nitro
you fire off nitro and white lines (from speed) flash around you to make you 'look' like you are very fast
same with overboost, but it's not as much
when you get shot by a crit, the screen goes red
but how about making it look very dark red like this?
and make the regular 'get shot' look like this this
and the fire items will make you have more larger flames, especially if it's very deadly (napalm will look very cool)
frost, make your screen go blue, like this
and healing, make your outline of your screen glow green, like this
cool idea?

TBH, I find all the flashing distracting enough as it is. Especially when you’re trying to manoeuvre and aim at breakneck speed, and your entire screen goes white, so you can’t see your targeter. If I could turn off effects completely, I would.

 

Maybe make it a toggable option
I would play it more if it looked better
