These players stacking on legendary perks with this playstyle is sick.

Note: these players are being matched against mk3 and 4 players who have low level uncommons and rares

 

You know what, I saw KilledWhale doing the same thing in one of my battles + go read the patch notes.

And the best part about it is

1. No doubt, you'd be doing the exact same if you didn't scrap your entire inventory.
2. You're butthurt because you're caught up in all this mess with no way to get out. (Once again, well done for scrapping all your items)
3. Let me guess, you're using tiered uncommon items on an mk5 ship, aren't you, hence, you're stuck in a loop that you can't escape.

So overall, it's not punishable.

Don't indirectly bring up your problem by hiding it in the light of something else.​

To be clear, 3v3 matchmaking is based on gear score, not infamy or anything else. If, for example, you run a MK3 with legendary weapons, your battles will be against MK5 boats, and maybe MK6, who have more slots, more items, etc. It is supposed to balance out, and if it doesn't it either means that gear score calculations need more work, or that some players are better at choosing the right mix of items/boat than others. It's all circumstantial.

And to reiterate:

This is why the Devs invented gear score... to allow mixing of different boat levels in the same match, independent of infamy.

Remember the times of your mk3 fixer with Uncommon duct tape and mk3 speeder with a common tesla Shield (even with best weapons you had), that you used in normal Infamy mode? This is just karma striking you back.That jeopardized the infamy,conversely to what you did,players have nothing to lose here.

I m sure matchmaking could definitely be much more improved and devs are already on it.However till then most of us just adapted to what's best for us!

No, if you run a mk2 or 3 with t5 epics or legendaries you will be setup against mk4s with low level rares and epics

 

You are just upset you can't pull this off because you had a little tantrum and scrapped your gear.

I don’t think these guys should be punished, it’s not a serious exploit like the guild quest board 1 exploit was. However, I do think something needs to be done. I just do not know the fix for it atm.

Also this specific event will be over soon, making it less beneficial to do this. (Bc now you only need 2 high lvl weapons and can leave the other slots off to have lower gear score)

Ps: May as well do it while I can; but it isn’t as if doing this is fun.

When I ran an MK2 with Rares I was primarily competing with MK4 ships, some MK3, and only MK2 when they tended to have Epics. When I stuck an T5 epic shield on my MK2 boat, replacing two shields with the SAME combined gear score, I got a warning in red letters stating the matchmaking could take extra time because it was looking for a "fair" match due to my gear mismatch... then put me in a match with all MK5 ships, which was a fairly quick loss for my side. It gave me the same warning when I equipped a single T1 Legendary weapon (which is basically a T5 Rare), but that wasn't quite as bad... mostly higher end MK4. I stuck with Rares on the MK2.

To my chagrin many of my opponents were running low-to-mid level Epics, with the occasional T5 Epic. Overall though it was entertaining trying to find the best balance of items, item levels, and boat type/level to be successful in an otherwise difficult event.
