    Hello Devs,

The introduction of the events is well received and they are nice indeed! But, here come my question: can they last a little longer? I cannot play that many battles a day, some days not at all. So, I was still working on the first series and then the event was over already.

I am guessing more people were not able to finish it in time. So, if they can last a week or so, that would be much appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Regards,
    Flint

I wasn't even able to get a single leg perk while others were able to get 3. Maybe a limit to how many you can get but increase time to get it?

Yeah, I think week-long events would make it much easier to get the better perks.

Nah, even though the new perks are awesome, I prefer shorter events so the next one is revealed faster.

What??? I'm impatiant when I'm hyped up

I guess this way it rewards very active and motivated players. TBH I didn't get a leg perk due to RL illness but that's the point I think, leg perks shouldn't be for everyone otherwise you may as well call them common perks no? If you want it so bad be more active if not then don't moan like I didn't when I couldn't hit the amount required. o_O

I think the reason that some players were able to get three leggy perks, while others couldn’t manage one, had less to do with event duration, and more to do with an unfairness in how stars were awarded.

I tried first playing with my Speeder. The Speeder is actually really good at winning TDM, and I was routinely getting more kills than the rest of my team put together. Yet the rewards were terrible. I’d get 5 kills and only be awarded 1 star for the win, and zero stars for a defeat.

At that rate, if we assumed a 50% win rate, I’d need to play close to 400 games to grind out a legendary perk.

I ended up switching to my mk3 Defender, so I could run my underleveled Flare. This was actually much worse at ‘winning’ games: I think I was only winning about 3 games in every 20, but I made much better progress, because I could consistently earn 1 Star, even on defeats.

This allowed me to grind out my leggy perk in around 200 games, which was doable, but still a hard grind, and possibly not something I’d want to commit to every week.

Some Shooters seemed to fare much better. Able to win consistently, and earn 2-3 stars for it. So they could grind out a leggy in half the time I did, and a quarter the time it would have taken me in my Speeder. Fixers seemed to fare the worst, to the point where it probably wasn’t worth playing Fixer.

I think @Flynndawg posted the best example of this, where he’d done 70k healing in one game, and received 0 stars.

For future events I hope that they will adjust how the ‘event points’ are scored, so that all boats are able to comfortably finish the event in ~100 games.

I'd be in favor of this. Cap the amount of times the event can be played and increase the duration.

They are a company which need profits, the players who play the most often pay the most so there is no way they will do this plus in effect you will be holding active players at ransom in order for the non active to get decent perks again this makes no sense business or otherwise! If you extend but don't cap the limits then leg perks will be everywhere and not be worth getting after a couple of weeks so the buzz will die down too quickly. How they have it now is correct albeit as @ViscountSniffit said the rewards could be tweaked.

I say that these modes should be permanent. More fun for everybody. But the perks thing gets removed after a set period of time. Afterwards people would play because they like the mode.

I am active and a paying member, but I just cannot play 200 to 400 battles a day, not even in a week! Not because I don't want too, but I cannot. For me it is different, health problems, but I have guild members with jobs and a family, they cannot play 200 to 400 battles a day either.

Agreed, not most people played for perks. I played for the fun of it. To get some rewards is always nice btw, but there is a limit you can give I think.

You didn't need to play that many battles a day just be good at getting 1 star on losses and 2 on wins. I had problems in RL and still got an epic whilst hardly playing maybe 200 battles over the whole event last time could have got you the leg perk if played shooter and correct weapons etc. I hope you are better now.

Flint, I personally was playing about 30-40 matches a day, and I still got my leggy. It's all about making both your wins and losses count, and finding exploits to the competition format.

Hey, any advantage, intellectual or gear-based, is fair in events. So sure.

I lowered my effective gearscore by simply replacing my turbo and bandage(epic t4 and t3 respectively) by a single big shield(rare t4). The dramatic decrease in gearscore and increase in durability gave me a deadly edge which I used to its fullest. 3* wins, 2* losses were all I was getting at the end.

I didnt manipulate my gear score, so ended up playing with stronger opponents but I stuck with shooter, and a T3 epic fire bomb, and a T4 rare flare, and often was getting 2 star wins and 1 star losses.

I didn't need to manipulate my gearscore. My frequent scrapping meant that my gear was already below 5k gear score so I got easy opponents anyway and got three star wins a lot.
