True. But then I get a whole team of invincible ships and we’re back to square one. ;)

Despite the claim about fixers, the defense advantage is very true. A classic example is that, a defender lead an offensive push towards enemy spawn, the team might get an up-hand at first but they will eventually lose as the teammates except the defender get sunk and then the whole formation get torn apart because they refused to wait and regroup. Also, once that defender get sunk too, it will never make it to the frontline again before the game ends.

A lot of other games with this mode have similar issues too, it is just the highly distinct roles in BB that amplifies this to a non-ignorable situation.

An ideal fix would be add multipliers to the spawn time and shielding time, but I guess it would be heavy in scripts: the closer a ship was sunk near the spawn area, the longer respawn time and shorter shielding time after respawn is applied. Vice versa could work too, but it will encourage passive playing which is not good for a mobile game, in terms of time per battle.

I feel like defender is the ship that gives you a better advantage, because they take a while to sink while also having the potential to deal great damage. Also, I lead the charge as a defender and it usually works for me, and the Overboost that you get once you respawn helps me get to the front lines again, as well as my lvl 22 epic turbo that I'm trying to level up to lvl 30. Over all, the defender soaks up damage to let teammates attack, deals damage, sinks, and returns.

I am talking about the strategies of taking offensive approach is less ideal than defensive, not defender is not good in the game mode.

In offensive approach, the push works for normal matches but as soon as the unfriends figure out they will start to scatter instead of aggregate and that makes it easier to target other ships than the defender. Yes defenders do great dmg and absorb a lot in the beginning but most of the random teammates do not know how to maintain the upwind let alone take advantage of it. On the contrary, if a defensive approach is taken, the team would be forced to manual over around a smaller area, making maintaining formation much easier. I assume I don't need to argue about the significance of formation for defenders here.

The fixer team wins most of the times. Thats true because the win rate for one fixer vs zero fixer is 53% sinces the devs last posted. But does the fixers get the stars they deserve?

No, if I remember correctly, normal match fixer win as 52 or 53%, so about 55% or less.
