Okay, so I've come up with the idea of another type of slot for ships - The Purple Slot. It will hold one of the following 4 items (I came up with 4th just now)
*These items can only be activated once a match and only one can be chosen and it's permanent. The following items can only be use when the HP of the ship reaches a critical point. ( 20% for 1-2 and 15% for 3-4 considering how powerful they can be.)
1.HP Tank - It does what the name suggests, gives the user a good amount of HP that can help in survival when health reaches a critical point.
2.Speed Boost - This one will be particularly helpful for the yellow boats but anyone can choose it. This massively boosts the ship of the speed to get out a dangerous situation fast. It will work for a few seconds. (6 is good imo.) This item will provide a boost of 5x-6x of base speed.
3.A Super Weapon - What kind of a weapon it can be shall be discussed down below but here's how it will work. When ship health is down to 15%, the player gets access to a very high damage one time use weapon.
I feel this could be something that works like an EMP, waves of energy are launched from all angle and it hits everyone in a particular radius. Makes it safer for opponents as it is a bit easier to get away, and unlike cannons the chance to miss in normal cases is a lot lower for the user, so it fulfills the purpose.
4.Stun Bomb - Again, this one can be very powerful if timed right, so it can be activated at only 15% HP. Kinda works like an EMP. The ship lunches a stun wave that stuns all enemy ships upto a particular radius which can be decided by devs. This is particularly helpful in emergency. Not only it can help you, but your teammates too. There needs to be restriction though to avoid consecutive use. If one player on team uses this item, another player on the same team can't use till for 10-15 seconds later. The stun can be upto 7-8 seconds and works like a tesla bolt, wears off if the player gets hit. But like all the items here, it will have to be leveled up to reach the highest stun duration.
One thing that would be really great is that these items be kept free of rarity or duplicate requirements. Instead, each level should require a very high amount of all parts till epic category to level up. This keeps it fair enough for everyone, so players can't progress way too fast in this by paying their way up easily.
These items provide every player the one last chance to fight back and turn the game around and these could bring a new life into the game. Share your thoughts on my ideas, post any corrections or more ideas down below and I hope you implement these, developers!
