No, this is a classic example of not being able to climb now, because of infamy tankers... Vs mk6 boats with T2 legendary items and t4 epics. When highest item he has is t4 rare.

 

My mk5 (level 38) enfo has been able to get to 3k with a highest items of t4E, then t3E.
I fight 8 mk6s every match, and an mk7 every several matches. t5E and R is the standard gear.
Yet I stay at +3k.
I'm not saying you should be able to get there, I'm just say you should strive for better.
(Maybe watch some shooter guides, and open a forum thread)

 

He DOES strive for better. Yet everytime he gets to 1700 he gets smashed back down to 1400. As his main account has been a nightmare player, the skills aren't the issue. It's an inability to climb anymore without amazing luck or massive time expenditure to grind resources and upgrade items. Which is of no interest to this person. Unless the nest update is hugely impressive... Of which is highly doubtful

T4R took me to 2k 4 months ago... And I know a fixer with t2 and 3 rares at 1700. And my mini is a mk2 fixer at 1100 with one epic, one t2R, and one t2Uc

 

That's great for you. Am not insecure enough to need to measure myself against those who feel it's necessary. Obviously this is something that you will constantly argue about. Was just replying to the (light) accusation of being a tanker.

Its just seeing those items at that level rubs me the wrong way. Also, why does he have a standard cannon equiped? Unless you run mustly torps, mortar, mines, or a combo of those, you don't want standard cannon on a shooter. Wasted dps.

 

2k ain’t a whole lot more than 1500, and it is actually harder to gain infamy now at mk5/t4r than before. A fixer with t2/3 rares can easily get carried if it is mk3 and below, same as your mk2 fixer likely did to get to 1100.

If you don’t understand why low mk ships (mk1-2) get carried to similar infamies as higher mk ships, I can explain but I figure you do. (Hint: matchmaking balances ship mk levels).

I don’t defend tankers but I honestly think this guy is just caught up in the BS that is matchmaking tainted by balancing ship mk level of teams

 

I do relieze it get hard to climb as more people get more stuff. I know its not that much, but at lower levels 500 is big. (ish)
I object to the notion that I've been caried for the 2 weeks I stayed at 1.1k in my mk2. I did about average contrib, but one well placed bolt on a ship that needs it is better than 3 on a ship that doesn't. (And I know about the matchmaking)
