Any recourse if falsely penalized for lowering infamy?

    Hello devs, First of all, I do not and never will intentionally lose to lower my infamy.

    However, because of your efforts to weed out the jerks who do, those of us who happen to have a bad run from time to time (often because of the matchmaking that is still wildly unpredictable) all of a sudden are getting penalized.

    Maybe I had a good run and got my infamy kinda high and as naturally tends to happen one gets lowered back down to a more appropriate level (aligning more with player skill and ship loadout), or I was just trying to dial in a new boat set-up that didn't work out, or doing a guild quest with less than ideal weapons - such as Napalm or mines.

    Anyone one else experiencing being penalized for lowering infamy unintentionally???

    There is a penalty for dropping 800 from your highest.

    I' a returning player and not sure how this seal clubbing thing works I've already dropped in infamy quite a bit. And losing out on rewards is it even worth my time at this point to keep playing or does this penalization eventually let up. And if so does anyone know at what point u start getting rewards back? I'm still going against boats that outclass me by quite a bit but I can't seem to face similar opponents as to the level of my ship. Any help would be appreciated.

    As far as other innocent players hit, @ViscountSniffit is another legit player recently caught up in the cross fire.

    I was ranked 2400 plus when i hoped back on im now at around 800 and can only seem to face 1800 plus infamy ships which outclass my mk4 wil i keep going against 1800 ships? Also I would need to get to around 1600 to get rewards back correct?

    Yes, you'll keep getting up against them. But only for two weeks or so. The game will put you in normal matches after that. Regular rewards will also come back after a while.

    Any suggestions? should I just stop for a couple weeks then I hate putting a burden on team mates

    It'll make your recovery much slower tho, and there's no saying if that might even be an accurate figure.

    I say, go fight, because you don't have much choice

    Good to see you on the forums @GigaBeard, so sorry this has happened to you. This has been brought to the Devs’ attention before, so, hopefully, they might address it in the next update (which should be very soon).

    Yes, although that was more because of stuff the Devs changed, rather than ‘bad luck’. The good news is, I managed to claw my way back up to ACE 1 over the weekend. :)
