it really did. it took some time to get done, because the fixers also would play the same way, move out fire / heal, hide. but once it was done, it's in the bag

Fixers by all means do not need a nerf, nor do their items. It is hard enough to get rare or epic fixer items because there are only 3 vs like 12 weapons....
I have lost plenty of battles when I am the only fixer against five shooters/defender. They take out the run aways first, then me, then the leftovers. It is startegy and if your team didnt win it is because they did not have the right strategy, or were not well matched in weapons.
Fixers do not need nerf period.
Otherwise, the top players in the game would be fixers, but no they are shooter, enforcer or speeder.
    Good luck

I don't know about 2 v 1... almost rather have just 1... but 1 v 0 is equal? Nah. That's either a misunderstanding or some propaganda bs that anyone who has played this game much knows isn't true.

Fixer+repair items are already nerfed for many times,so actually if repair pluse heals only 1 teamate, that it's not repair pluse
If they keep nerfing fixers,by the end, nobody will use fixer anymore

They said there isn't "that" kind of bias towards teams with fixer vs. not in response to a guy who claimed it was 90%. Which is a lot different than saying there is no bias, or denying that there is a significant bias. And again, everyone who has played this game very much knows there is a significant bias towards a team with a fixer vs. a team without one.

I've gotten in to a few matches with 3 fixers on my team, they don't end too well for me. :(

Nobody is going to point out that both of their Fixers also had the highest damage on their team? I wasn't there, but did your team really successfully focus the Fixers when one of them had time to get 17k damage? The lack of stars on either of them makes me dubious of their healing, too. The rest of their team did less damage than you did, and it looks you spent most of that match actually healing people. Without your text explaining it, I would have assumed your team killed everyone else on the team first and left the Fixers for last.

Everyone has the weapons necessary to out-dps one or two pulses at any infamy level. That wasn't my point. Pulse doesn't heal only one person, it heals up to five, and the range of the pulse isn't that short. Torpedos and Mortars, even at high levels, aren't reliable enough to destroy a healing team on their own, and any Fixer that is behind cover is particularly difficult to take out. That's why you need multiple people to focus the single target. If you have multiple people focusing a single target, then the Fixer team has a tactical advantage along with the innate effective-HP advantage, especially if the Fixer doesn't die.

In practice, like I said before, it's usually not that big of a deal. The Fixer ends up going down easily, either because he thought it was a good idea to flank/follow the flanker, or the Fixer ends up having to chase his team around leaving himself wide open to enemy fire. However, you occasionally get the team that has the Fixer ducking behind cover, his team is actually playing around him, and no individual ship dies unless someone either chases it down or it gets multiple people focusing it at the same time. Due to waves, cover, yellow slots, and the other 3-4 enemies shooting at you, having the ability to out-DPS the healing isn't the same as actually doing it.

I'm really unconcerned with what Miika has to say about win rates.

look at the damage my top two teammates did, that shows how much healing was done by them. It's also not uncommon for a fixer to put out that sort of dps in higher infamy, my dps is low because I am one fixer trying to keep the team up while they had TWO one can throw shots while the other heals and vice versa.
that round also came down to the wire from memory, it lasted for what felt like forever

That doesn't show how much healing was done by them. I don't play at that level, I know, but even with healing... a Fixer should die before taking 30,000 damage, right? Plus, if a Fixer healed for over 30k in one game, while still putting out 17k damage, I'm pretty sure that would have warranted a star. If the Fixers seriously died first, and the match lasted that long, I have no doubt that if the non-Fixers on that team weren't so useless they would have won that match very quickly.

There's also another weird thing you said in that post. What makes you think the enemy was putting out more damage than your pulses could heal when the damage from their entire team was so dismal? Their Shooter barely got more than 3k off, so did their Speeder, and Fixers aren't exactly powerhouses. Even at Mk 5 Fixers only have one red slot, according to the Ship Tiers thread.

Edit: Ignoring the star thing, the damage does show that the enemy Fixers might have healed for a lot. But, if they were able to heal over 60k damage over the course of the game, doesn't that prove that the enemy wasn't dying very fast? And that their Fixers survived for a very long time? Seriously, it sounds like you won that match based entirely off the lack of damage or accuracy on the enemy team.

If your team didn't have a healer at all, would that have gone so smoothly?

Slightly off-subject: Maybe Fixer self-healing doesn't apply to star contribution...?

As a fixer/shooter, I have played plenty of games where the team with fixer lost due to lower dps. And I am not even talking about higher leagues where players generally aim better.

Also, having a fixer limits the team's strategy due to them clumping up. Torpedoes/flare guns/fire bombs/berta can easily break them up, and if the other players stray off too far in response fixers can become pretty much useless. There are a lot of tradeoffs that balance out what appears to be an OP nature of AOE healing.

Oh man that was some epic team work! I look good in there xD. Whoever it was that wonders the legitimacy of that match needs a good spanking, that match was epic!
Captain Spatula was superb with his double pulses. Definitely no nerfing needed, this game is difficult as it is.

That just means the fixers were very good and lucky players.

You never said it was over quickly, you said multiple times that it was a long match. I'm saying that if it was a long match, and the rest of their team was that bad, it proves that Fixers really do sway the game.

I'm not questioning the legitimacy of the match, I'm questioning the description. Apparently it was a long match, no one on your team died, and only the Fixers on the enemy team did any damage. Maybe it's a "you had to be there" thing, but the screenshot doesn't seem like something to be super proud of.

I'm only arguing about it from the standpoint that it really looks like the enemy non-Fixers were really bad, and the argument we're making in this thread is whether Fixers need a nerf. Not only that, but you guys are talking about a 1-Fixer vs. 2-Fixer game, not a 0-Fixer vs. 2-Fixer game. He posted a screenshot of himself having healed his team through a long match caused by both teams healing themselves, and both of the top enemy players were Fixers with high damage amounts and tons of self-healing. I don't think I could possibly be more in favor of nerfing Fixers after seeing that screenshot.

But oh by the way, all they said was the win rate for teams with vs without is less than 90%. Which was then twisted into all sorts of things by people wanting to defend their fixer overlords.

Fixer is not in the top 2 of most run boat at the top level - Perhaps we arent exactly the overlords you think? ;)

Fixers are fine. If your team don't focus them that's there mistake.

Here's an example if you don't kill the fixer.

Can someone post a screenshot of a match where Fixers aren't carrying the game?
