Ok, so I’m on a public WiFi service so my ping is generally slow, and sometimes, without warning, it will be INCREDIBLY SLOW and I end up losing a couple hundred infamy before I realize it. I think that’s really why I can’t achieve a good infamy. So, what is the best set up? Fastest device, fastest internet set up??? Please help.

    why do u wanna know?
i think generally the faster the internet the better and then second comes device speed, or they are both important but Battle Bay is not one of them life-sucking games that feast on high CPU power and RAM so any old phone should be fine if u hv good internet it would definitely help a lot in terms of lagging etc.

    hope this helpso_O

The quality of your internet feed is the biggest determinant, not so much the raw bandwidth. You want the packets to travel quickly and reliable, but you don't necessarily need to send a lot of them.

Public WiFi is probably the worst-case scenario, as at any time another user can cause a high burst of traffic by streaming Netflix and congest the airwaves. Even your home WiFi could be subject to the same if it doesn't handle multiple devices well, such as the cheaper WiFi access points that are often provided by your ISP.

Cellular service is subject to the same "shared medium" issue - if there's too many people in a particular cell tower area, they could start eating data and slow down your packets.

Your home internet is probably the best option.

I play on a Moto G4 play, when it starts to heat up the game becomes worse than with a 500 ping :mad::mad:
It happens after a half hour of gameplay

If you want really stable internet though, tether your device to PC so you can use cable instead of wifi :D

I played games like this for a long time because my appartment didn't allow wifi. It was very inconvenient but perfect connection always.

I actually used a USB OTG cable and a USB Ethernet adapter once to see what that would do, but the awkwardness of having all that mess of cable hanging off the device didn't do the ergonomics any favors. I should try again and check the ping, see how low I can go. 40ms is my average WiFi ping in a crowded airspace.

As an update to this post, I now have my own internet feed in my apartment and a Nighthawk r6400 router. I went from avg of 100 ms to 75 ms. In the four days since it was installed, my infamy has increased 500, but now I’m at a plateau again, and can’t seem to move beyond it. Now that the issue of internet has been solved, I’ll just have to figure a way to not suck at this game... :D
