I used to buy red item pieces every time in the shop. But after multiple times getting a weapon I didn't want it seems like a waste to me. 10 rare pieces is 620k gold. Then i end up with a mine or a trip torpedo. Maybe some of you would like those results but its not my play style so it was a total waste of the gold. I've since been reluctant to buy them. Just curious how others feel and if I should keep rolling those dice.

Personally I would like it if you could at least choose the category of weapon you want from a combination (Cannon, mortar, torpedo, fire, and other maybe)

As a new player I would buy as much as I can afford - At some point you can stop buying the ones that become obsolete (fairly sure its better value to buy parts over pieces).

Fx - I have all the rare yellow items I wait, so I stopped buying those. I still need 2 more rare Turbo, so I continue to buy rare blue pieces.

Always buy every single epic piece offered (unless you are completely sure you'll never reroll, but still epics are much harder to acquire than they used to be so you have to grab all thats offered).

Alot of weapons have usage, think long and hard before you scrap them. I sure wish I had kept all Blast cannons and Cannonades fx.

I have an issue with red items too. There are simply too many of them, making the odds too low for me to spend for it regularly.

I'm not talking about real money necessarily. I'm talking about gold received in any form, whether you pay for it or play for it.

My issue is gold is so hard to pile up. I always need to buy more materials and have a ship to upgrade to MK 4 soon too. So the chance that I will be siting on whatever an epic piece cost (500kish right?) when it pops up in the store is low. I hope in time gold become a bit more plentiful but right now I feel its better spent buying the materials I need to upgrade my rares as getting decent epic weapons seems like a very long road.

    Epic pieces are around 280k.

Best advice I can give is to always have a stockpile (once epic perks start appearing thats 1.4 mill or so) and focus on buying the large stacks of parts (they are better value).

But dear god yes, gold is tighter than a virgin

The bottom line is gold and sugar rewards are a joke because they want us spending money on pearls.

^^^^^THIS. I try to buy the bigger bundles for parts too. You always want more gold; so use it efficiently. If I am offered item bundles too small, I simply don't buy (unless I'm near my gold storage cap).

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll start trying to keep my gold at about 1.5 mil just in case and stop spending on the smaller material packages. After i get my mk4 that is. I wish there was a conversion system between the resources. I always seem to be hitting my sugar cap faster than gold

Tbh, I try to buy everything from the shop, and play enough so I can purchase all the items I need other than the perks I don't need or use and the uncommon materials. It's very costly and you won't be able to save any gold. the materials are so essential to being able to level your items, and I'm constantly running out of pretty much all the materials (uncommon, common, rare, epic) all the time. So yeah, you'll need to item Parts / pieces from the shop. These will either be something useful like a weapon or an item, or scrapped as valuable materials.

A viable strat if you play all the time, which some (and you stated you are one of those) do of course. Otherwise, you have the option to maximize your gold spend based on bundle deals.

Follow up question. What are the best bundel deals for a material? Does it max at 1000 pieces? Never really paid attention, just bought everything

    Common 2500pcs @ 82.5k gold
    Uncommon 1000pcs @ 228.5k gold
    Rare 400pcs @ 400k ++ (cannot remember exact amount)
Epic 50pcs @ 650k++ (cannot remember exact amount) not commonly seen in shop, next best value bundle 25pcs @ 350k++ (cannot remember exact amount).

Best value bundle I bought most of the time, there might be better bundle.
