12k battles, over 99% as Defender.. 4 pentas. Being slow is not good for getting pentas.

 

Keep in mind the differences in the two achievements. One is to knock a guy down to 1 hp. The other is to actually finish the entire battle at only 1hp (incredibly hard). I've let one guy win who had 1hp in a one-on-one battle.

Same lol ;( 8.5k battles in. It seems like getting 3&4 per game is getting much more common for me though, prob since I’m usually being placed as top infamy player of my team now

Looks like I have 14 Penta-kills in 8k battles. I also have my share of quad-kill losses.

Penta-kills aren't something you plan on, it just happens in the right circumstance, with the right equipment. Steal killing shouldn't actually be a bad thing in Battle Bay, as the goal is to get rid of opponents so they cause no more damage, I've seen plenty of boats with double digit health issue thousands of damage, so we want boats that can finish them off. As Snapshot mentioned, a Speeder is really good at seeing low HP opponents and getting to them quicker than any other boat can, which is like kill stealing, but it's solid team contribution... some boats are too slow to chase down a kill.

I only think of steal killing when we have 4 boats hammering the last opponent, and it's a matter of luck who gets that last shot in... or when I have a quest that requires a kill with a specific weapon, I consciously think about the order and timing of weapons to try to get that quest checkmark. In fact I've been stuck on a LRM kill quest for days now, had lots of kills taken from me when I'm trying to time that last shot... but that's fine, I love it when teammates gets a kill.

 

The day I upgraded to Mk5 I got 4 Pentas.

 

It's even better than that! Consider a typical 1v1 between two shooters. One of them will lose and the other is likely going to be terribly battered. But the moment I show up on the scene it changes into a 2v1 and the opposing ship generally goes down quickly saving a ton of HP on that shooter. That's really why I'll abandon my current battle and jet across the map. If kill stealing were all it was, I'd prefer to finish my own battles. Rather, I'm keeping my desperately needed shooters with all their gun tubes alive longer.

 

You don’t know what kill stealing is, watch a KenZer video. Cause I have seen many ships in the game not shoot cause they want the kill, and their teammates die from it

I'm not implying it doesn't happen intentionally, I'm sure there are kill campers, but there's also no extra rewards for a kill, which was probably intentional by the Devs to reduce kill stealing that could adversely impact a game. What I was trying to say that it doesn't bother me if a teammate steals my kill because at least they are trying. Considering my ongoing frustration with ineffective teammates crumbling early in a game without making kills, I'm just glad when they do contribute.
