DevReply Why is the sniper cannon balanced?!?

Yup! I was talking about nightmare speeders. They really r pain in the a**. They have such high speed that they come right in to us and cause chaos while we get distracted to them, the shooters just rip us apart. Also flare + ex cannon combo is still pretty sweet here. Everyone uses it , even though ex cannon got a Nerf.

So, yeah sniper is most relied weapon to tackle against speeders here. And if sniper looses crit , then GOD help me win.

Well , among those 15 pages, there r 10 pages of rage by sniper haters, expressing why sniper is so OP and has to Nerf it. Remaining 5 pages of sniper users defending why sniper is not OP. And I guess we still haven't come to any conclusion. So yeah, expect it to be a bit longer than 15 pages

I’m a defender and it works fine for me. It doesn’t crit all the time but base damage is 702 and crits at 2100. To me it’s worth it for the distance. I use three epic crit chance perks and one epic crit increase perks and on average it crits two or three times in a match. On average I rarely miss shots with sniper compared to blast cannon which I’m probably 65-75% accurate with combined with less range to me makes sniper more valuable than blast cannon.

 

About sniper not being an issue at higher levels, i disagree. It might not be strong against 20k health defenders and only take a fifth of a 10k shooter’s health, but for the average nm shooter/speeder/fixer/enforcer a sniper crit from the most common sniper (that basically every match has) epic t5 with 3/1 perks, it takes a third to a half of their health. Just gone in a snap.
But hey, that’s no problem.

 

I'm not a sniper user on my main account anymore, I guess I won't ever come back to that weapon, because I don't really like it
I used a sniper on my shooter from 800 to 1400 infamy points... It was a good weapon, but I didn't feel like it was OP, then I switch to speeder and sniper was kind of boring so I scrapped and some time latter I've been blessed with a real OP weapon, my explosive cannon
On my mini account, I try to farm items who will combine with my son's playstyle when I catch his MK level without make his game too much easy (the kid has to learn how to play), so I use sniper (thank god he only plays on the weekends )
From my little experience sniper is a very good cannon but also:

• Worst than standard cannon from 0 to 1000 infamy points;
• Not better, just different from blast cannon and explosive cannon from 1000 to 3000;
• Useless against tesla shields.

That's not my definition of overpowerness.

 

I don't understand why you all say that snipr cannon without its crit chance it will deal a low damage so it will be one of the weakest item

Sniper cannon shouldn't deal high damage(if 700 isn't enough) it has 2x range and speed of BC that why it deals 1/2 of BC damage (and when cirt chance and perks are removed it will be replaced with damage and range and speed perks so it will deal 2/3 of BC damage , not balanced?

You can say it is like carronade , it is made for certain situations to be useful more than others items ,any other long range item with that speed?

700 damage points with more than 10 seconds of cooldown on nightmare?

 

I don't understand where is the fun of (OB then Tesla sheild ,then flare then ex/Blast cannon then Tesla stun , and repeat ) with a bit of changes due to situations , my opinion is shooters enjoy the game more than anyone

I use EX cannon and carronade with OB and 2 nitro ( i don't use Tesla stun and shield because what iam doing on a fast ship if i can't avoid your shoots ?, And also stun you ,take a rest and then come back to wear tesla sheild , you aren't having fun ,and iam doing something i have did millions of times )

Alao it is really sad when every speeder is using the same setup ,it really destroy the fun

I meant in 1 vs 1

Because how do i know how to avoid it if don't even know who is shooting me and from where i will take the shot ?

And also it has a fast projectile so it is hard to avoid them ,and what i meant is to use my 2 nitro to stay away from your sight ,that you can't shoot me even with carronade , but if someone else is also aiming for me it will be sooooo hard to avoid


All that without any crit shoot and it was super useful ,so what it will be if it has 45,% crit chance ?OP?

Okay, let's ignore nightmare for a minute. If you are facing anybody with a sniper that does 700 damage points and crits about 2000, he/ she probably doesn't know how to lead shots which means that if they are hitting you that much maybe your movment are just easily predictive.
I'm not telling you are a bad player, just that if you're receiving that much sniper shots in a yellow boat maybe you need to improve your dancing skills.
PS: I have no bandages, no snipers on my main account and I'm not that good. I only don't see overpowerness on a balanced item ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

I dunno. I'm using a cookbook speeder meta mostly because the game had been kind to me with flares and blast cannons. Honestly, the excitement I get from my speeder has more to do with driving it than the weapons mounted on it. It's that moment of both fear and excitement when I'm looking at the pack of 5 enemies and their fixer takes a hit. That's my queue but you have to know that charging 5 unfriends all by your lonesome is always a hairy moment. How could that not be fun? Why would it matter if I was using dual std cannons or maybe sniper & ex? It'd still all be about boat positioning and anticipating those enemy turrets.

 

I think it’s fun playing any type of boat, it depends on what you really like and enjoy. I don’t enjoy playing a slow boat like defender, I don’t enjoy fixing, but there are people who enjoy them. If you don’t find playing speeder fun, then you should change your boat.

 

What i meant is most of times when iam 1 vs against a speeder i know what is his setup because probably it is flare + ex /blast cannon , where is the randomization , that randomazation is what make battle bay a bit interesting for me , i dont know for you

 

And why they dont know how to aim?

And iam not hitted with sniper cannon a lot of times but when it hits it crit , but if you are a shooter and you see a speeder what is the first weapon you probablly will shoot the speeder with?
And sniper cannon's speed and range make it the last item decide any player's attention ,skills...... if he was hitted with

 

Yes, though only the t5 epics of over 5k players do that damage. The average is like 550-700
