    Yesterday i tried to look for it and i didn't find it ,and i don't know at which map was it (subzero or another one (i don't remember its name)) i play a lot of battles , i will try to search for it again (i just remember that i lost in that match ) i can't replay all battles that i lost in and enemy had a lvl 50 sniper cannon on a shooter.


    Don't believe me, i understand that ,but i have no reason to lie , don't believe that too ,nothing i can do about it

    No it wouldn’t because everyone knows it’s OP, so they go out of thier way to hide from it.

    It is reflected in the number of players using it. It has always been at least top two in Nightmare, and in @AntiSnipe’s Ace League snapshot, it was the most popular weapon on every ship (even Speeders). You yourself posted a game where everyone on your team was running Sniper.

    Just because you aren’t seeing huge damage, doesn’t mean it isn’t OP. On the contrary, it’s such a powerful meta defining weapon, that most players plan thier whole strategy around trying to avoid it. Which actually spoils the game for a lot of players.

    I signed up for cute little dogfights with boats. Not an entrenched nightmare, hiding from name tags on the horizon.

    Snipers need to clear off.

    It's overrepresented for sure. I mean, ONE snipe isn't OP at all. But when all five unfriends have one, and believe me it happens in Master 1-2 a LOT, it's crazy OP. But there ain't nothin' we can do about that.

    Basically, it is so easy to use that people stop considering alternatives imho. Not OP, but overrepresented.

    In the same way as nobody can do without turbo. Is turbo OP? Hell no, but its damn useful and easy to use (lol), hence everyone uses it. Same way with sniper I believe.

    And standard sheild ? Alot of defenders use it ( and speeders for their low health , and some shooters )( and don't forget fixers )
    (standart sheild is super usefull if your team have a fixer)

    And bandage (alot of speeders, shooters , defenders ,(and some enforxers use it too most of times instead of turbo))

    And big sheild is on every ships apart from fixers

    And if a whole class is over used no need to nerf any bcuz the one that is nerfed will be the only underpowered

    Turbo is kind of OP, we just don’t think about it because it’s so ubiquitous.

    Just imagine if you didn’t have one though, and you had to keep eating Bertas, while other ships were able to zoom around at 2x speed. It would feel pretty unfair.

    The purpose of balance is allow variety to exist. When one item or stratetegy is clearly better than others, people will be forced to either adopt it, or be uncompetitive. Those that adopt it will still be able to have ‘fair’ games against each other, but the meta will be shallow and one dimensional.

    That’s exactly what has happened with blue items.

    Firstly, please try to get over yourself. The only thing ‘comical’ in this thread, is the massive disconnect between ‘how clever you think you are’ and ‘how clever you actually come across’.

    Your method of argument is only appropriate if we’re in highscool, and you’re the prettiest cheerleader. Since neither of those conditions have been met, please try to have a discussion like a grownup, and ditch the spiteful commentary (I can promise you, no one is impressed by it).

    Secondly, @TheAntiSnipe provided data. That data clearly supports the point I was making: “sniper is overrepresented”.

    His personal opinion on the matter doesn’t change the data, so my argument isn’t dependant on him agreeing, or hurt by him disagreeing. Why are you even bringing it up, let alone acting like it’s some kind of spectacular refutation? If you aren’t able to distinguish between data and people, then maybe debate isn’t for you.

    Lastly, I suspect you’re actually wrong about that too. @TheAntiSnipe has been very diplomatic on the subject (he kind of has to be). However, he has consistently supported making changes to Sniper (especially the skill tree), and has made topics in the past suggesting possible ‘balance changes’ (which you would interpret as nerfs).

    I’m not saying he agrees with me 100% (lately he’s been talking more about compromising), but that doesn’t mean he agrees strongly with you either.

    If you really believe arguments can hinge on what @TheAntiSnipe says, then maybe you should actually listen to him, rather than putting words in his mouth.

    First off you just stated

    You have not mainly taken the stance that it is “over represented” cause if you had I surely wouldn’t argue that. I even agree that it’s overly represented in games. However that doesn’t make a weapon OP or represent OP capabilities. As stated below you’ve argued (ACCURACY) and how the Sniper wins against a Blast Canon in Mid-Long Range. Arguing the Snipers benefits is not the same as arguing it’s Over Representation.


    TLDR; You have argued about the Snipers Accuracy and OVERPOWER’d-ness. Stating that you’ve argued about “OverRepresention” in an attempt to obtain some sort of (Moral High Ground) is completely wrong. And it’s in your argument on the thread, about Accuracy and OVERPOWER’d-ness I don’t agree with. But yes it is OverRepresented, and I do agree there can be some talent “adjustments”. But we never argued that, our argument has been about its ACCURACY, DAMAGE OUTPUT & OVER OP’ness that you’ve claimed.

    Let me make my stand clear here. I stand at the side that is more reasonable. If somebody asks for a removal of all crit damage perks, I'm against that. If somebody says it's a normal weapon, I'm against that as well.
    "Overrepresented and not OP" means that the sniper cannon needs some adjustment. Sure it's unreliable. But have you peeps considered how quickly it reaches endgame levels, relative to every other item in the game? That strikes me as wrong.

    The talent tree spread I suggest is not a nerf, since the sniper cannon is not permanently losing a part of its capability. It's a balance. Again, the idea of shutting down crits at close range is not a nerf, since it only affects people who use it in close range, which is not how it is meant to be used!

    I’ve said this many times: sniper being so popular and widely used because of its usefulness, not its OPness. Another reason is the limited option of long range point damage weapons: sniper and railgun are the only ones. Just create another usable 1-slot long range point damage weapon and we will see the number of sniper reduces.

    I hadn’t seen much campers camping at spawn area and sniping and shooting mortars the whole game. And if there’s one, I’d be happy to let him continue to stay where he is and leave his team 4 vs 5. Such campers usually lose.

    Removing sniper from the game will only give the yellow boats a massive advantage. So you as a speeder like close range dogfights, when going up against a shooter you want to get within shooting range of your weapons without getting hit by any other weapon, and when things not going well you can just OB+nitro yourself out of the shooting range of close range weapons in a matter of seconds so that the shooter can’t damage you? Yea that’s fun for you, but not for the slow shooter who can’t chase after you when you try to run away.

    A picture says a thousand words.Its one of the big advantages of using a blast cannon.
    Many posters here don't realize that sniper damage without crit is a joke.In fact its so bad that i use burn 1 damage perk instead of crit.Lol at people who say it does not need aiming.It does especially against speeders and enfo.Also Many shots get blocked by waves in sub zero,foundry.Its a reliable weapon that's all.I replaced it with grenade,swift torp but always keep coming back to it due to its reliability.That explains its overuse.

    Ok comparing to ‘Real life’ sniper and BBay sniper, Real sniper: long range, headshots( crit Hit) BBay sniper: Long range, (crit chance)
    The Sniper Cannon is called a SNIPER cannon for a Reason, it’s far range, and it hits critical spots Sometimes, ‘upgrading it (applying crit perks) makes it critical hit more,

    My Opinion

    Crit Damage is not the problem... I know major of the against side of snipers are players with low hp or play speeder. Why? Without mk 6 most players don't carry a bandage or have one that is very weak with them or don't have a fixer so they cannot heal up the missing damage plus the high damage burst is pretty strong, and very unexpected. I mean this is real time game, anything can happen such as a sniper hitting you from outta nowhere. Sniper is actually hard to hit long range in the end.

    I have only 5648 health on mk 6 speeder. I don't use tesla shield that often.. Snipers up here critically hit for 1.5k+ really hurts but honestly this game is situational. Gotta make the right moves.. If you are in range of snipers just be careful.. Know when you have to dodge and make sure snipers don't get you.

    Only problem i have here is the unpredictable trajectory line. From my side you can't even see the sniper coming.. You cannot even dodge the shot unless you see it. I rely on trajectory lines to dodge most cannon shots. I read the trajectory lines like a book, but when they are unexpected and you can't see them, cannot dodge.

    But that's my thoughts. It's balanced imo.

    Even if the sniper canon is OP, you can still beat someone with a sniper cannon. Brute force is not everything.

    Imagine if it didn’t Crit. It’s basically a Standard Canon with twice the Cooldown but also Twice the Range....completely useless. At best I get a Crit every 1/3 shots I take. And that’s the best case scenario with my 37% Crit Chance. Even when I does Crit I hit for 1200 Damage. In that 12 Seconds it’s cooling down my standard deals two shots of 550+ Damage (More if Target is on Fire). Resulting basically in a the same damage the sniper does in the same amount of time. If damage is an issue how come they don’t complain about the Standard Canon as well?

    They don't complain about standard cannon because of its incredibly short cooldown. It's basically the machine gun of BB.

    OP sniper user+OP doubles bubble enforcer vs my poor explosive canon speeder which got nerfed... Sniper absolutely trash against tesla Shields..Max T5 leggy does around 850,even a rare shield can block it.The only true ship which suffers from Sniper is ''SHOOTER",since even a defender can reduce crit Damage due to more defence.Stop complaining guys,even i have learned to ignore those crits and my snipers are suckers with all rare perks.All those 100 shots bull shit Theories is nothing to what happens in practical battles..i can't counter a single brawl shooter with doubles blast approaching me.

    If sniper gets nerfed,that will be the new topic:D...buff/nerf req will never end until mods start being strict and lock multiple threads created on same topic again and again
