Thanks!
But I tried different set-ups and with the others I am less successul and do less damage. I tried a mine instead of standard mortar, but no luck there.
I am not staying back with my set-up, quite te opposite. I am always the first (if there is no Speeder) to the battle ground and start firing before I see them(every hit counts is my opinion), when I see them I close in and try to hide wherever I can. But so many other players start after one minute after the battle has begun, and if they start sooner go straight to the Unfriends and do not even move out of the way if a mortar is falling. And then there are the people with all the same weapons, so another recipe for a loss. I see people with 4 mortars in Wayward, 4 mines, 4 flare guns or a mk5 with 4 weapons from which 3 are Big Bertas and he is hitting the ceiling in Wayward time and again, but he/she keeps on trying. I saw another mk5 Shooter, 5 weapons, but only using 1! mine, even when the Unfriends closed in, he/she should have used his blast cannon or torpedo, but no, only one mine! This drives me nuts to be honest! So, I get why I lose so many times if people like that are in my team.
So, if I change and do less damage and the rest of the team does the same as they do most of the time, then I am still not going to win more. Because the more damage I do, the more likely it is we win the battle. If the others do sometimes 8x less than me, than I don't need to do less damage, but even more.
But I will take your advice and start leveling up my flare gun or whatever it is called and start using a shield. The standard mortar is not my fixed weapon, I swap it around for others, like standard cannon or torps. And I will give the mk4 Speeder a go. I already started using the mk4 Enforcer more, which I liked. I did often the same amount of damage with just two weapons, than with my Shooter with 4 weapons.
I had more luck with my mk2 than I do with my mk4. Is it because the mk2 was faster and more manoeuvrable? I like to think so. With 200 damage weapons on my mk2 I often did 4000 damage, more than the mk5s in my battle.
So, maybe the Shooter is just too slow for my kind of battling?
