Sugar maxed out, overflow..help

I still dont understand the overflow thingy .
My sugar has maxed out at 1.8mil, if I battle will I lose the sugar earnt or will it overflow?​

 

Overflow only works once, and it only works if you haven't already reached the limit of your storage space.
You aren't really losing anything though..

 

How do you even have sugar overflow? Don't you have a captain to train or an item to level up?
My sugar is constantly empty after all the captain trainings and item levelings.
My gold however is always full to the brim even after I purchase a lot of parts, even more than I need and upgrade all my ships. I can't seem to get my gold empty.

 

I'm not exactly sure but I think you will lose all the sugar gained when you are at maximum capacity. But if you are almost full capacity and you gain more sugar than you can hold, it will overflow, but only for that one gain.

e.g. sugar capacity 1,800,000 and you have 1,799,000. You collect a quest that gives 10,000 sugar. The sugar will overflow to 1,890,000 and show as red. However after that you will not be able to gain any more sugar than that whether from battling, care packages, another quest or any other source.

(Sorry for my bad explanation; hope you get what I was trying to say! )

 

For everything in the game (that I'm aware of), if you have ANY space for it at all then the game will deliver the whole lump and create some temporary overflow storage as needed. So if you have one inventory slot left and you open a box with 2 items, you'll get them both. However, if you have zero inventory slots you won't be able to open up the box. The same is true with sugar. If your limit is 100k and you have 99,999 then you can get a 25k reward and end up with 124,999. But now that you are at or over the limit any further rewards will go to waste. Ditto with gold.

I played a lot and routinely had overflow on sugar. There's no way my training could consume all my sugar and leveling up blue stuff was gated more by blue parts in the shop than sugar.

You'll lose it you'd earn it if you were close to the limit and then finished a daily mission

 

Over flow is very good if you can use it to get training that is just out of your max storage. Say you have 1.5m storage but the training costs 1.6m you could get as close as possible to 1.5m and collect a quest or something to overflow it to 1.6m and get the training. I use it all the time that way.

 

My sugar is always overflowing. Training takes 4-5 days but I fill my bucket in 2 days, and the market doesn't provide enough parts to level up enough to keep the sugar down. This has been a perpetual problem as of, at least, level 40.
