**Poll Question** canon.. you love it? or hate it?

Personally its my go to, my bread n butter. Shortest cool down time in its class, moderate dmg output. However, viable DPS. Thoughts?

 

Drops off a lot at higher leagues. Unless u get a legendary ofc

 

The use an expo cannon

 

It is good if it is upgraded well or it would do just too little damage.
I have rare tier3 cannon but it feels really weak in 2700+ infamy zone.

 

At low boat and infamy levels it's a must imo, nothing really compares because of cannon's fast reload. At high levels when you get more red item slots perhaps it's less essential, though I can't see it ever being bad.

 

The thing about cannons, is that they are 1. easy to use, and 2. you get very high dps. So if you get into a dogfight 1v1, you can usually win, if there is not a humungous gap in your ship's toughness. The problem, is that you are much weaker in team fights. You lack the significant range of a mortar or a sniper or rail gun, etc., and you don't hit AOE either. Its good if you are able to shoot people without being seen frequently, or can get into 1v1s a lot. Otherwise, you are a glorified practice target.

 

Although, cannon does have a little more range than stated (often I still see a red out-of-range number, but I can already hit the target) and it can hit sometimes when a sniper or railgun can't because the projectile flies higher.

 

The projectile has a higher arch than the others in the cannon class, yes.
But compared to the range of the sniper cannon, the aoe potential of the expo cannon, or the high damage of the blast cannon...I can see it not being a huge component in the higher infamy levels.
