Limit the Amount of Any Weapon Items use to 2. Don't allow 3, 4, or 5 of any weapon or item.

Ban using the same weapon or item 3 or more times. Fix it. Or nerf using 3 or more.

    I understand your intentions, but I don't think we should limit build options. Making damage quests more global was a step in the right direction, but rewarding specific weapon usage is just as much of a problem. Quests like the "All Fire" and "All Cannons" are much better options. We still need to think up better quests because making most of these damage quests for specific weapons is what is causing the swarm of shooters with ridiculous builds. Maybe count time in capture or time survived in battle? Maybe count successful skillshots? Anything goes, just not these quests that require specific item usage. Fixers don't seem to have this problem because there are no specific green item quests.

    I am on the same page as you, though, something definitely has to change. The change, however, has to discourage people from using setups they know don't work for them, not force them to stop.

    Perhaps a more elegant solution would be a rebalance of where rewards come from. Right now guildquests matter alot more than infamy, so naturally people focus on quests.

    That Nightmare rewards are equal for #51-#2000+ is silly. Heck only top 3 matters. Infamy atm is totally pointless for almost every Nightmare player. Push better rewards from guildquests and onto season rewards (infamy) and peoples behavior will change.

    Jaws, the thing is I dont see people who use three tapes or five mines as doing anything wrong. And I think that those reports would be disregarded anyway because no rules are being broken in and of themselves. If the happy miner suicides or something maybe... but this is one hundred percent just your own point of view... you mentioned that sniper cannons would be the ‘obvious exception’ but what you are implying is that every weapon would have its own maximum number allowable... there are reasons why 5 mine shooters are as rare as hen’s teeth... they dont work. And the caveat with guild quests is you have to actually win to get the rewards. So five mines is a good way to guarantee you never make ANY progress.

    I do come across quite a few people with all mines, flare guns, torpedos etc. Maybe it has to do with the Infamy I am at. But I reckon 15% to 20% of the battles some days.

    I use 4 explosive cannons sometimes. Now with the cool down nerf, 4 is a magic number.
