Why do I get these quests?

Yes, troll. Absolutely. And when did you provide me with ACTUAL data. You mean when you said you get the quests, too? So, you saying something is providing me with actual data? Hard to see how this is even an argument, since it doesn't really oppose my point.

The only thing our opinion may be differing on is the frequency in which I get these quests. Whatever, troll on, bud. Troll on..

No. Neither of you were trolling to provide that info (anecdote, data, whatever).
And neither Mr Meaner nor I are refuting it as how it's currently designed.
This thread started because Mr Meaner thought how it's currently designed is problematic.
I agreed.
I tried to back up that perspective with logic.
Then Kalbs was pretty rude to me (i.e. that's where Mr Meaner came to my defense by calling him a troll).
Let's keep this whole thing on-topic...

Rovio makes these quests for us to use sub-par gear.
Is that good? Is that bad? Why? <--- this is where the valuable conversation can be had (that's what I've been striving to do)
My opinion (again) is that it's bad. The degree to how bad is debatable, but I'm a purist. I don't see why we should tolerate even little incentives -- if those incentives are counter to the goal of raising Infamy.

 

In my own personal opinion, the quests and whatnot are good. I think it's great that they try to encourage players to experiment with other stuff.

What's bad is the reward system. It's that you are punished for doing so.... severely. Heck, I'm in a M4 speeder and I won't even swap over to my M4 shooter. The gear on the shooter is a little bit lower but very close (R25 compared to R40). I simply don't have the room in the 800 point seal-club window to play around like that. I consider the seal-club penalty (assuming I understand it correctly) as the equivalent of a perma-ban since I would certainly quit rather than try to fight out of it. You have to play... AND WIN... at your career high even if it was a 400 point bubble of luck that brought you there. That simply isn't possible. If you were already above your actual capabilities, how are you supposed to win? That's why you dropped back down again.
