Why do I get these quest?

This is my main boat Screenshot_20180305-131119.png

And I read a long time ago, if you don't want a certain type of weapon quest or ship, don't equip that weapon or leave that ship unequipped...

    So that's how I've kept it Screenshot_20180305-131111.png
Been like this for months, cuz I grew tired of getting quests for this boat. Seems to me, devs, you guys are advocating for me to intentionally go to battle with an underclassed ship, clearly violating the rules of fair play. Well? I'd sure like to know what gives?

Did you recently upgrade it to mk5?

No. I upgraded it shortly after I upgraded my defender to mk5. I have been dealing with these quests for a very long time. I've had it empty for at least a month, maybe 2?

Yeah I used to only get speeder quests, then I played enforcer for a couple hours for guild quests. Haven't played it for a month or two but I still get enforcer quests :/

Based on my observation, you will get these type of quest if another ship is just 1 mk below your main ship.

I used to get Fixer quests when I was still an mk5 Speeder. My Fixer was mk4.

My Shooter has all weapons equipped but I am not getting any quest because I am now mk6, the Shooter is still mk4.

Rovio has just threatened to punish players for not playing their absolute best.
And yet here's another example of them incentivizing the exact opposite...
    *sigh*

That agrees with what I've seen. I didn't start getting Defender win quests until mine was Mk5, and despite having gear fitted to my other boats I haven't gotten any quests for them since they're all Mk3 or less.

I only get the occasional Defender win quest and I tend to re-roll it because Fixer is still my main boat.

Honestly, I'm not trying to be all negative...
But I am just sincerely disappointed.
I truly love playing this game.
But I see a wildly imbalanced incentive structure, which has been the direct cause of most player complaints.
Balancing incentives isn't hard, but there are some key fundamental principles that Rovio just doesn't seem to acknowledge.
They've made an incredibly fun game - I'm just expressing my disappointment, which I feel I should be allowed to do as long as I stay respectful/constructive.

You will get alternate boat quests if you have used them within the last month or so... just re-roll the quest if you don't want to. Sometimes it's an incentive to dust off that old boat just for variety.

Sure, and eveyy battle is just a bit of gold and sugar. Every quest is just a few raffle tickets.

Collectively, they make up the hell that is Battle Bay infamy. I agree with Spinners71. Rovio SERIOUSLY needs to sit down in a room and decide how they want players to play this game. Then they need to stop punishing you for doing that and reward you instead. "Don't be afraid to try new weapons".... LOLOLololololol.... it's like they are trolling their player base.

Bingo! I've been saying this for a while now. If you make beginner content drop stuff that end-gamers want, then it's a pretty safe bet the high levels will be farming the low level content. Seal clubbing in this game is not only predictable but inevitable and they can post and repost their "rules" till they get bored of doing so. It won't change.

Unfortunately, other players are interpreting this as an attack against them before doing any observation.

This could be just a bug, it's not even a big deal.

I haven't used that dusty ol boat in over 2 months, n i reroll it everytime. But just getting that quest period is a waste. I actually want the reward almost 90% of the time. But in all fairness, I wouldn't bring an underclassed ship full of underclassed gear to battle. So, in essence, I'm punished for no good reason...

And then, as a "reward" for dusting it off, that one-month timer starts all over, and you're "encouraged" to use that same sub-par boat again a few days from now.... yippee...

Reread @CaffeinatedChris and my observation, maybe you'll understand.

Here let me quote it for you.

Every word you wrote above is wrong.

I haven't seen anyone take your words as a personal attack.
I mean, I guess I can just speak for myself, but it doesn't seem like it anyway.

As for me, I responded to your comment "Lol take it easy, it's just a daily quest."
My response was intended to (a) try to show that I wasn't upset or angry, just disappointed, and (b) that disappointment was less based in emotion, and more based in logic. The logic is simply that, if Rovio wants to make rules (threats) like "play your best, or your account will be deleted", then I fail to understand why they even have weapon-specific or ship-specific quests -- of the daily quest variety or rivalry quest variety.

    What have I not observed?
I have observed that we get these weapon-specific and ship-specific quests. Have you not?
I have observed that these types of quests encourage me to use sub-par gear, which leads to a drop in infamy. Have you not?
I have observed Rovio make a post about how if we are discovered to be playing at less than our best, the consequences may be severe. Have you not?
    What am I missing?

Is it a bug? No. These quests are working as they were designed.
Unfortunately, the quest-assignment code is at odds with Rovio's stated expectation that I play my best. (Which also happens to be what I want! I want to play my best!)

And yes, I do think it's a big deal.
Anything that incentivizes us (directly or indirectly) to use worse gear to get a reward, or to tank infamy to more easily get better rewards... I think those have a massive net-negative effect on the "health" of the game.

I desperately want this game to succeed. It's a ton of fun! But that's why I make such a big deal about this stuff. It's in Rovio's best interest to take these topics seriously.

So... in case it's not clear, I'm still no taking your words as an attack. I'm not mad. I'm passionate about the game, and I'm trying to show you why I hold my viewpoint on this topic, so perhaps you can try to understand too - and not try to make a small deal about it.

Perhaps you disagree, but I'd like to see your reasons, and not a note about how you think you have offended me, that my opinions are premature, or that it's not a big deal.

Lol dude I wasn't even replying to you. And I was talking about players thinking that Rovio is "attacking" players using unfair mechanics.

Great effort on the write up though, I didn't read any of it except the first 2 lines.

This is exactly what I was about to say, and I was just thinking about how to articulate it correctly. Luckily, you were on the same page, and now, I don't have to.

Well said, and thank you for understanding the true nature of this thread.
