Cannot see target past 40 range, Range perks useless on long range weapons.

    If you max the range on your sniper, you get around 60 range. Weapons like Tesla bolt, railgun and Repair bolt or frost blaster have infinite range. However, you cannot see your target after around 40-50 range and that makes the extra range useless as you have to 100% guess where your target is. I am suggesting that you guys somehow enable us to auto lock even at long ranges OR provide a zoom function that's both manual or automatic when using weapons with 40+ range.
    Otherwise range perks on already far range weapons are obsolete.

    If your teammate is near somebody 50-60 units away, can u still see them or still no?

    ok can confirm that if you have team mates beside the enemy you can see them from anywhere on the map even through walls.
    But the issue here is that if there is no team mate then even if you should have a clear line of site you still cant see them

    I'm a sniper user, dual actually, and I personally think hitting a locked target 60 out would be insane.

    You give up all your crit perks though, and the absolute farthest range on sniper is 64.5

    Well, imo, you should be able to see whatever your range is. Besides the infinite range items, it just doesn't makes no that you can shoot farther then you can see. I agree with Miko here.

    That doesn't sound like an issue. It sounds like team work and that's what the speeder(s) ought to be doing. My constant lament is that so few shooters ever take advantage of it.

    The maximum visual range is at 35 points, read it somewhere long before so any corrections are welcome.

    Also sniper is meant for supporting teammates at long range until you get close enough to use the rest of your non-snipe weapons not camp at spawn and play hide-n-shoot. :p

    Enough people whining to get hit by sniper from 40 range on other threads, and then we have a thread complaining you can't efficiently make your sniper range 60+

    I also hate this as a speeder, but you also have to consider their firing range and any walls/terrain blocking their shots.

    Naw, that's not it. I generally only scout on open maps. I wait till till they've all had their 30 seconds to do whatever it is that everyone does at the beginning of a match. They just don't understand what I'm doing so they don't follow along behind. So when I light up the enemy they are out of range, out of position, and useless.

    I need to play more defender and enforcer. I main the other 3 collectively, and it helps a lot. As shooter, I would see you doing your scouting and I'd know exactly what you were up to because I do the same thing. You'd probably get some backup as soon as you were spotted as long as you were within my range. The game needs to let players try other boats more easily so that everyone can have this kind of knowledge of multiple boats' playstyles and have a better understanding of what certain team setups can accomplish.

    COMPLETELY AGREE

    I have learned so much playing the speeder vs. my original shooter. Now I have a fairly good understanding of what both boats can and should do. But what's happening to me is that as I rise in infamy I can no longer swap boats so easily. It was one thing when my infamy was 800 and I could bring any boat to M3 and use it. But now that I'm up at 1700 and struggling to survive in a very well geared M4 there's no chance any of my other boats.... even my M4 shooter... could keep me from losing significantly. When you couple that with the seal-clubbing penalty it makes a very strong incentive to not switch boats... or even gear.
