Is mine a new meta?

    Instead of nerfing mine, give us a way to clear the minefield, for example, direct shot with a cannon to detonate a mine which can cause damage to both friends and unfriends. Maybe even cause a chain reaction to mines within a certain radius.
    In early game, we usually know who dropped the mines (especially if following a mine-dropping teammate) and can just motor over them, so this is more a late-game strategy.
    Using a weapon to clear a mine takes that weapon out of commission for the cooldown duration, so a player will need to determine whether they can afford that or to go around.

    I think they're becoming meta. New like... patient speeder meta or something. Mines + escapability very hard to deal with if the match goes long.

    Mines are great crowd control. Because they can one shot so many players, you can even throw out common L1 mines all over the place and people will stay far away!

    Imo before the last update the game was balanced perfectly but now it sucks i can’t figure out a even win/loss style now. It’s just loss after loss now.

    14 of them suckers. Only 3 total mines equipped on other team too, 1 on ours. They had the back alleyway completely blocked off of course too. Can we just reduce the duration a smidge? ;) maybe 5-10 seconds would be nice

    Do you know how long does it take to level your equipment for a f2p player? :)

    Fully mine setup is usually in the following situation:
    1. They had mine equipped on one of their ships, now they have quest which they have to complete. The fastest way is to equip 4 of your blue mines lvl 1
    2. They have guild quest, result is the same
    3. They just want to have fun

    For almost one year of playing I just recently was able to upgrade mine to lvl 50. If my luck will be the same, I will need few more years to create a strong full mine builds.

    But I tell you as it is - I often notice funny damage from mines (<1k)

    Inb4 mine becomes unusable.
    I see how OP it can be
    I use it as an enforcer as my 3rd weapon to either pop it into enemy lines to spread them out or to keep them away from me. It's also my only source of damage since my T4 rare grenade and T3 Rare blast cannon get put damaged greatly at 2300 infamy for some odd reason

    I dont know which side you are on but all i can say is that speeders have got an indirect nerf by nerfing ec and buffing enfo and if you nerf it more speeder will not be played and will competely be replaced by enfo

    At that infamy, that's the same infamy I usually am, there are very few players using only mines. That scenario is filled with mines by more than 1 mine user on both sides, most battles.

    Love my Mine, Map control is huge. Can’t use a large item like big torp on the last slot due to a single point. So I use my Mine for the large damage weapon. Played a game this morning, Defender in my guild ate 3 of them. 15k to 3 like that.

    This idea has merit, but I'd go with something like, "You have to do an amount of damage to the mine equal to it's damage". That means you can clear one, but you're going to be spending quite a few weapon cycles to do it.

    My side is that I agree with a mine nerf as long as it isn't too brutal like the frost nerf was. Also I almost never see a speeder using mines and getting a reasonable amount of damage. I didn't say anything about nerfing the speeder either

    I'm not against some minor nerf just to help put a stop to entire areas becoming filled with mines. I wonder if there's a maximum mine count per tube/player/whatever? If not maybe implementing one would keep the overall count down. If you exceed your count the oldest one blows up when you lay a new one. I don't know. I'm guessing here. Like others I'm seeing a proliferation of mines and beyond a certain point game suffers.

    NOTE: I like the semi-random, sudden-death aspect of mines and I like how perfect a counter they are to speeders (my boat). They need to stay useful in those functions. I just don't like it when huge areas get covered in mines.

    Dropping by this thread to say I just got hit by a mine for 5,054 damage. Have some defense so it was more like 5,100 base. Wow.

    I'm getting more annoyed by the abundance of mine users. It isn't quite as bad as getting frozen in place during the frost combo meta, but it is getting pretty annoying.
