Just got my heart broken with one of the most awful weapons in this game. 7 months, close to 1000 hours played, over 100$ on a mobile game, and I get legendary ballpark. Literally the weakest weapon in this game, and it goes up 8 damage a level. Anyone else out there with stories of getting garbage legendaries? How did you keep playing? Honestly this might have been the straw breaking the camels back.

Legendaries don’t scale up per level much since they have a high starting point. Epics give you the most for each level, but also cost a lot more to upgrade. Try it out and you might even like it. It’s a powerful weapon and is almost impossible to dodge. Mortimer has lots of upgrades for it that will make a difference.
If you don’t know about retraining multiple skill tree talents in a batch I’ll leave this here.

Level 39 and still not a single Legendary Weapon. I could care less about not having one but when the time comes I hope it is one I enjoy.

You have many advantages with this weapon:

    1. You are lucky to have a legendary at all. 10 months in, I have not a single one.
    2. It's a good mortar, equivalent to a fully leveled up T5 rare. How much would it have cost you in training, parts, cells and 6 item duplicates to put together an equivalent? You bypassed all of those months of training and millions upon millions of gold and sugar it would have taken you to build the same thing. You get it as a gift and now you can:
    3. Use it as a quest weapon... you will be king of the guild whenever that quest comes up because hardly anyone has ballpark, and if they do it'll be super weak.
    4. It's got nearly twice the effective area as other mortars. You will have your enemies scampering to get out of that massive area of impact.

That is completely true, I thought it was horrible at first but I played with it on my smurf and it’s amazing how it can control the enemy and deal massive damage on those matches where the enemy sticks together with their fixah!

Exactly crowd control weapons are vastly under-appreciated (Napalm, BPM, and Mine). Napalm doesn't deal a lot of initial damage but it can be a game changer when you can push the enemies where you want. I did not like mine because I rarely get hit by one, but I tried it out the other day and was amazed how I easily could manipulate the behaviors of my enemies. They are very strategic weapons.

Ballpark + frost launcher on an enforcer is a great combo. I'd love a legendary ballpark. I'd rather have that mortar than standard or bertha.

I personally got a good one, but I already have the copies necessary to get the same weapon to level 5 epic (when I will be able to), which is better both in shear power and got 1 more perk slot.
Not complaining tho, a legendary is still a legendary.

As a Mk6 fixer running double pulse, ballpark is a huge pain to deal with. I cuddle up to my team to lay down the heals, and then suddenly there's a mortar target the size of Texas on my head and no way to get out even if I was already full steam ahead on the Overboost.

It's no good against the yellow ships (Speeders dodge it, Enforcers just Tesla tank it) but the other three are pretty much guaranteed to at least take a splash hit.

I have been using ballpark since it become my first weapon available to upgrade to Tier 3 (Epic). Now i have a rare lvl 40 Ballpar and an epic lvl 40 Ballpark (shooter). Is a really useful weapon and deal a good amount of dmg.

I was in a match yesterday where we were just a couple ticks away from a capture... one guy on the other team used a ballpark mortar, which covered the ENTIRE capture area.. an absolutely brilliant move in that circumstance, and there you go, yet another good use for it. Even on the edge of that hit I was damaged nearly 700 HP.

    Its good for guildquests!

And while it is shit, its arguably the best Mortar in the game. Doesnt sat much, but its atleast something!

I was thinking about this a few weeks ago too (when I finally got my first Legendary), but never posted... While I got "lucky" w/ Big Torp, here were my thoughts at the time:

Scrapping Legendaries should give more than 1x Piece. Legendaries are soooo hard to get (I just got my first after playing a lot for 9+ months), that when you finally stop trembling enough to push ‘combine’, if it’s something you’ll never want to use, scrapping it shouldn’t start you all the way back at 1 Piece… On the opposite extreme, if scrapping gave 9 Pieces, maybe that would be too far out of balance the other way, but somewhere between 1-9 Pieces (~5 perhaps?) I believe there’s a better balance.

I believe my suggestion is a win-win because it helps players from feeling forced to use a completely undesirable Legendary weapon that they didn’t want (which is not only most likely their strongest weapon, but also the only Legendary they’re likely to get for a very long time), and I believe it would encourage spending because people will begin to see “buying” their way to a Legendary or two wouldn’t have to be such a merciless gamble.

I like that idea. I just got my first legendary and I had to prepare myself before I combined it. I had come to the following conclusion... If I got something that I already used, then that would be great because it is an upgrade from my rares, I can scrap my rares, and I'll be able to take it to Tier 2. However, it is something that I probably already have epics of that will end up being better.
So if I got something I don't have yet, then it saves me from ever having to upgrade rares for it and probably never upgrade an epic for it since I could take it to tier 2.

I got a Grenade, something I don't use but had saved multiple epics. I was happy to be able to scrap those and I've loved using a new weapon that I didn't have to upgrade at all.

Ball park mortar is a useful weapon for clutch situation like killing a low health speeder who is running away or as envy life pointed out with capture scenario.
FYI: one of the best shooter in the game aka blue lotus uses it as his main weapon
