Isn't the solution to add another stat that gives more of an example of how well you play? I suggest average stars per battle. I play enforcer and don't get all the kills because I am frosting and distracting. I have a low kill but usually get 2 stars.

Or you can change kill per battle to how many times you were "killin' it" in battle. So if you were top of your team (on either the winning or losing side) you should get a +1. Word!

 

... and I'm the exact opposite. I don't have the guns to "do damage" but I make a great knife in the back. So I get more than my share of kills.

Still, regarding the OP's concerns, I don't think it's a meaningless statistic. It just needs to be taken in context like all other statistics.

 

Its weird as my kill rate for fixer is as much as for speeder. As speeder, I often never finished kills but as fixer I just go in and 1vs1 shooters. With varying results

 

I'm ok with kill rate... it's a useful stat. I would break it out by boat type to go along with the overall stat.

I'm not sure about the damage portion... it varies so much over time as you upgrade items that you will never get a useful number. For those that issue a lot of damage, those will translate to kills for the most part, but it's kills that win battles, not damage. People stealing your kills? You are stealing others' kills to. It all comes out in the wash.

Super high kill rates smack of seal clubbing, particularly amongst those 6k infamy players who get reset to 4k and then climb back to 6k in a single season.

 

I think people who are worried about "kill stealing" in a team sport need to look up what the word "team" means.

 

They know what team means,They just wanna score more goals! Selfish much...

And if players of this game understood what team meant,We wouldnt have mk7 roaming at 2.5Ks

I agree, KDR shouldn't really be shown. Regardless of whether anyone cares about it, the very fact that it's displayed gives it more importance than it deserves. This isn't that kind of game. Just take it off the profile, it doesn't have to be replaced by anything.

 

Lol it's not even KDR, that would be better than what we have. Our numbers don't show us kills vs deaths, just kills per game.

 

Actually, I dont want shown how many deaths I have had, let me just say, I have a history of running into mines when trying to be the one to kill the last unfriend.
