The targeting system bounces to other targets too easily/randomly. (Let's just not mention the lock on feature, which is too stiff.) Anyways, it bounces to unwanted, even untargetable targets behind walls and rocks right before you take your shot.

What I'd like to see is more advanced targeting settings and options.

Have you tried turning on "sticky targets" in the settings?

Targeting is awful in any way.

We have already discussed it in a similar thread, everybody agreed, now we can wait half a year for the next update and prey developers will not forget about it.

Are you talking about the thread by @ViscountSniffit ?
Its promising to see devs tried to help in this update, although the response has been a mixed bag (some prefer it, some dont), the fact Rovio tried to change it shows they want to make it the best it can be, so lets keep fingers crossed for next update ;)

Yeah, but if we can't get some knobs and dials to tune the aim-assist then how about just some way to turn the cursed thing off. For me at least, playing battle bay without having a target locked is nearly impossible now. The moment I approach the enemy pack my camera will be dancing around so wildly I'll have no idea where I'm going.

Agree wholeheartedly with the jumping around. Much worse when boats are packed or close together, but have also seen the reticle go zooming off away from target even when targetting a lone boat and trying to manouvre before shooting – didn't experience this as much pre-update 2.8.

*nod* exactly. Given that it's my chosen role to assault the enemy team... grouped up or not... the target sight has become a huge hurdle to overcome for me. I have sticky off but it sure seems very sticky to me.

Yup... see that too. THere I am in a 1v1 and maybe the unfriend gets behind a rock or something and suddenly my turret is swinging wildly into the air or behind me or something. I haven't tracked that one as closely because it's much more rare - I find myself fighting packs more than singletons.
