I've been saying something along these lines on the boards for a few weeks now:

But it's always been possible I simply don't know and Rovio hasn't bothered to clarify more than "X% bigger battle rewards". So now I'm asking the question and putting it in specific terms. Oh, and I pray daily to RNGesus for an overboost :)

I am M4. I could be M5 tomorrow when I hit 30. My pressing need right now is blue parts... I need lots and lots of them. I get plenty of sugar and gold. I have as many common and rare parts as I could want. There's no reason to level epic stuff right now. Blue parts is where it's at. Perks are also high on the list of "need to get" items.

Right now I'm at Master Div 3 with a season high of 1410 or so. I wasn't really thrilled when I crossed into master and suddenly I started seeing M6 boats so I'm avoiding crossing the 1500 infamy line. Those fights are going to be a LOT harder. Wins will be less rewarding because I'll be placing 4th and 5th regularly. Guild quests will pit me against tougher foes requiring weapons leveled equally to my main gear to have any hope. I see lots of ways I lose progress as a result of fighting at a higher infamy. What I don't see is any benefit to fighting at my maximum infamy. I see the net result as a substantial loss.

Am I missing something? What do I get if I just let my infamy rise to it's natural level other than much tougher fights and bragging rights?

I get 20k+ gold per win, and I get to knock chips off some really stiff shoulders;)

So then.... bragging rights? If that's really right then I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is with matchmaking LOL.

Each league is divided into 3 divisions, each with better rewards. The top players of the league usually gets REALLY good stuff, better than like division 1 of the next league sometimes. Master League is worth it though. I remember almost half my rare parts came from league rewards back in master :D

This is a problem... As far as I can tell people do sandbag to get top rewards in lower league. IMO everyone in a higher league should get more rewards than anyone in a lower league... top 3 can continue to get more, but not enough to make sandbagging worth while.

So then basically every two weeks, if you can pull a top slot, you get a few parts and, in this case, 5 epic pieces -- for nightmare league? That explains seal clubbing for sure.

Honestly I can't even figure out why people are so focused on those league rewards. Looking at what Kalb posted it seems paltry to me and I'm only a level 29, 1200 infamy player. Why on earth would I lift a finger to win that? The infamy rewards down at my level are the same thing. The season ends and I get some paltry reward that isn't even noticeable for my 2nd place finish.

Its really difficult to reach Nightmare leage... Right now if you reache it before being lv40 with mk6, you’re a pro... (fixers don’t count). The reward at High leaves are more that right in my opinion.

Hey man, today, they tank because they're bad players. They keep repeating this sad story because it's hard for them to accept they can't fight a fair fight :D

You say that like it's easy to make Nightmare in an Mk5 Fixer.

~shrug~ That's not why I tank. Objectively I'm in the top 20% of players so not awesome but not bad. Nor is it why I keep repeating this sad story. But hey, thanks for playing. I do so in search of something even remotely resembling a "fair fight". I've presumed higher level players are doing the same thing.

Lol I told u , u have been griniding so much, u must have like 8 level 30 weaposn now. Calm down and stop wasting the blue parts. Now I use fixer all my weapons rae mostly useless, dont fall into the same trap. And dont upgrade until ur ready, I cant beat a mk6 in a straight fight either.
    upload_2018-2-20_17-0-59.png
Level 30 doesnt mean u need to be mk4, infact I am feeling of going straight from mk4 to mk6 to keep easier matchmaking then later having two weapons to use.

Fair fights are given to you when you always do what you can to win every single battle, when you tank, you're only cheating, no matter how you try justify it. :D
The matchmaking is not perfect, but is not unfair on the long run.

"Fair" is an interesting word. Let me recant that and say instead, "I tank because it is so much more profitable to do so in terms of gear progression and it makes my fights so much more fun." Honestly, fighting boats that are 400% or 800% more powerful than mine gets old... particularly when you are actually penalized for doing so.

Is it cheating? Sure... Rovio has one idiotic and unenforceable rule which says it is. I find no need to justify it or claim it isn't against the rules. Do I wish this situation would change? You bet since not actually wanting to win really messes with my enjoyment of the game. It makes it hard to get better and it just plain runs counter to the more natural cycle of "get good, get rewards, use rewards to get better".
