Top Features needed? Bay's road to eSports?

Greatings Bay,

My name is Sebastian and I'm 24 years old with quite a big experience in multiplayer games.
After almost 2 seasons of playing Bay (almost 1 month) I can clearly say the game has a very big potential to become not only a top app, also a competitive eSports game.
In order to get there, this game needs to become more and more popular. How can it become popular? By giving us (players) a better gameplay experience and a top competitive experience. We all know what makes us keep playing, and thats COMPETITION.

In other words, I've made my full features list that Bay needs to have in the near future.
I would gladly appreciate if anyone from bay's staff could read and use this thread, at least don't make it look invisible hehe.

Features list:

• Local Guild Ladder. This will improve the competitive side by giving people a reason to create the best guild in their country
• Add "Friends List" from the match facts pannel. We sometime get to play with random people who are quite good, making us to want to play more with them but that's not possible since we can't add them and we can't get their #code.
• Spectate others! This is A MUST! We sometime want to spectate others, either we are tired to play, or we want to watch a better player playing or just watch a friend playing. This is one important feature needed! By either spectate them from the guild member list or from the friend list would be cool.
  
• Match history. Would be nice to check our match history, pretty much every single top game has that.
  
• Rewatch matches. Would be nice if the matches are somehow recorded so we can rewatch them maybe from the match history pannel. To be easier to process the mass data, something like only the last 5-10 matches are kept recorded it's enough.
  
• Share recorded matches with guild members. Would be great to be able to share games with guild members. It will improve the experience in game.
• Improve the match facts screen. Curently we can only see things more important for shooter than to other ship types ( damage and kills ). Defenders will gladly want to see how much damage they took, Fixers will glady want to see how much they healed the team in order to compare with other fixers. Make the match facts more specific, not only damage and kills.
  
• Report button! We need to be capable to report players who are afk, cheating, or ignoring the in game rules. Curently we can't do that at the end match facts screen.
  
• More local chats. Would be great to be able to chat with others from your country. Curently there are quite many countries with many gamers who are left behind in local chat ( for example, Romania is full of gamers right now, and this game is clearly growing here, a chat would improve communication and the game experience.
  
• Guild mail. Would be nice for leader and officers to be able to send mails to everyone from the guild.
  
• 5v5 teams! The very biggest chance for this game to reach top competitive side is by creating a chance for players to work as teams and become the best team in the world (similar games examples: League of Legends, Dota)
  
• Team Ladder. After having a 5v5 team system, we will need a ladder. a totally different ladder from individual one. Create a team inside your clan (or something like that, I still haven't figured out the best way since you have guilds and possible teams) and compete as a team from 0 rating on a team ladder.
• Create tournaments. Again, after having 5v5 teams, tournaments are a thing! Tournaments will make this game more serious in competitive and will bring joy for people which are enjoyed by competition.

This is pretty much my features list needed for this game to keep aiming to the top.

I am trying so hard to make this game more popular, even having a channel on youtube and trying to get others youtubers to play this game so this game gets popular.
That's the best "reward" you could give for my "work". Looking forward to see the features added in game!

Idk about the others, but as soon as i started the game i know one thing which will definitely bring the game to top and towards more fame. That is 5v5 may it be as a fleet of friends or as your guild friends to participate in wars against other guilds. This would definitely be a cool thing, cause the excitement in your guild doing wars and going as a team is like none.

I'm not sure this game is balanced enough to gain any fame in eSports. Cash plays too much of a factor compared to other eSport games.

Thats true. Skills are what you require in esports and more of all they have balanced style. Like in tanki we use 5vs5 railguns with hornet/wasp. Undoubtedly to balance teams here same weapons if preferred with atleast same ships striker/speeder would be needed.

 

Mixed up weapons gamemode should be in esports

Everyone's weapons gets randomly mixed up

E.G
Carronade is long range but accuracy sucks
Sniper x2 crit chance but low damage
Heal pulse x2 healing but long cooldown
Turbo x4 speed but very slow reverse

 

Mixing wouldnt go too well here, talk about a railgun and a fire bomb. An if everyone in a team has railguns they knock out the other easy (providing they can aim well against speeders too).
It can be like same tier weapon tournament. Starting from rare maybe, rare tournaments, epic leagues and legendary clashes (for buyers basically) so the tier for their weapon is fixed for everyone in team. Either that tier(according to tournament) or less but not more.
And ships should be kind of same otherwise a fixer on the other team and not here would be a bit unfair.
Anyways i wouldnt worry about it now cause even 5v5 is yet to be implemented. (Or idea be taken note of)

 

Very interesting stuff. This game definitely has esports potential. It's fun to play, fun to watch, has a high skill ceiling and teamplay matters a lot.

 

eSports...the competitive version of any professional sport in the world.
So yes, LoL, Overwatch, CS:GO, Hearthstone, HoTS...
Tournaments around the world with teams competing against each other to find out who the best in the world is.

Problem with this game is, in order for that to happen, the weapons and ships need to have "tournament mode" where everyone is on the same playing ground (ship levels, weapon levels) so that skill is the only factor that is different.

I truly like all the ideas that the original post mentioned and are things that can be found generally throughout the whole forum.

I totally agree your ideas. But there is 1 mistake "defender gladly want to see how many damage they took" lol. Just look at their healt. How much health left. So it is not necessary. Since a lot of features that want to be added, It will make this game more space needed. I wouldnt mind if it needs more memories. But for someone who have very limited memories, it could be a problem. Well nice to see your hopes. I also want those all become true. Looks like some of your ideas are inspired from clash royale, dont you?

 

Recorded matches is something even i dont advise. It will just take your memory space and increase your game cache rapidly from every battle you like and count to have.
However, match stats can, if required be saved.
Also Ideas such as sharing recorded matches and sending guild mail are the same as strategy games, such as Goodgame Empire, for another example.

 

I agree with the consequence. But it would be usefull. For example, you have an epic battle.

It just happened to me yesterday. Hear my story. I was matchmaking. 4 shooter and 1 speeder was there. The speeder splited up from shooters. I told him to be together but he still went to his own way. Okay i dont care about it. Soon those shooter died including me. Our hopes only on speeder. and then i just noticed that he captured the capture point since the game starts. I DONT REALIZE IT BEFORE! I was happy. Really really happy. He had captured 85%. Not long after that, he had captured 98% and enemies came. AND YOU KNOW WHAT? ENEMIES SUCCESSFULLY ATTACKED HIM SO IT BACKED TO 0%!!!. Omg i raged there. it makes me mad and laugh between funny and agree. Wish i could share it but it wasnt recorded

So it could be usefull. Other game that i played that has this feature only need 400 mb (all the data and the game not only the recorded battles)

 

Yeah, there are a lot of matches that I run into that are epic or have awesome outcomes. I've come to the conclusion: RECORD EVERYTHING. Siphon the rest and delete later.
It's helped because not every match is "fantastic" but a lot of matches have learning potential written in them. Whether it's not to flank, how to aim, how to work as a team, etc.
But I also understand that taking up your own phone's memory is a draw back so I realize not everyone can do this. With a 256gb flash card on top of the 64gb internal memory, I've got space to spare to record.

Thats the tactics of speeders they will always go ahead. You dont need to worry much about them cause they are fast and dodge firepower (assuming a skilled one), well equipped speeders can take whole teams down.
Next up, yes it can still be taken but considering that each match is a bit lengthy from 1-5mins and the graphics are good too, so while recording gameplay must not be laggy.
And i've got 256 too.
