Critical Mechanics

    1) Has anyone thought about how critical chance works in battlebay?

    In the stat window, it shows that chance of critical hit from my cannon is 1%. However, I get critical shot quite often, which doesn't look like a one percent chance.
    Knowing the amount of bugs and weird solutions in battlebay, I want to ask the developers, whether they have some "interesting" mechanics of a critical shot, or maybe just problems with randomizer?

    2) I kindly ask the developers to specify in EVERY ITEM the chance of the critical effect and the value of this critical effect.

    Cannons have a 1% base crit chance unless otherwise specified. Mortars, torpedos, incendiary weapons and Railgun cannot crit. Grenade crits set your target on fire.

    Crit damage is 200% unless altered by a perk or talent.

    I could only imagine the havoc players would reak if grenade critical hits did double damage

    Sorry, you got me wrong

    I asked developers to specify all this information in the game.

    Why does explosive cannon doesn't have information about its critical chance, while other cannons have?
    What is the critical chance of repair box? What is the amount of this crit?
    What is the amount of crit damage?

    All of these question arise, and the game looks like pre-alpha 0.15, when the player has to google all this information on the forums, instead of just seeing it in the game.

    So nobody else think that 1% crit chance actually crits way more often?

    Repair box starts at 0% chance, it only gets crit chance with Feelix's talents. I'm not sure what amount the crit heals though.

    My explosive cannon crits about once every 3, 4 days. I play about 30 games by day... Looks like 1% for me. :D

    There isn't room on the weapon detail because the Explosive Cannon has the area specified instead. No, nobody thinks that the percentages are any different than what we already know that they are.

    Carronade lists more stats though, so it should be possible to list the crit chance for EC.

    Theoretical vs experimental probabilty; on paper, if you flip a coin 10 times, it'll land on heads 5 times and tails 5 times. But in practice it might land 7 heads and 3 tails.

    What if the Railgun could crit Hit, Imagine the top shooters in Nightmare League, they would have 2 crit chance and 2 crit dmg, oof, that would be painful if you got hid by one. :D :)

    Yeah, but the point of the theme is that this information should be described in the game itself.

    We all can see why that happened. But it is not a justification for such poor realization.

    I repeat again: battlebay looks like pre alpha 0.15
    It is not a serious approach.

    I deal a lot with statistics and analysis, I know how it works

    Unfortunately, battlebay doesn't provide any kind of useful statistics, and surely I didn't waste time to count all of my shoots.
    But by eye, it seems that I have critical shot every single battle or very close to that.

    For now, the answer from the developers that the chance of the critical hit is a plain random of 1% would be enough for me.

    But then you follow with

    You should know very well that is exactly what is required, to great extent, in order to obtain a large enough sample size to identify a "trend" never mind a full analysis.

    I'm gonna have to agree that it'd be nice to have all of that kind of information readily available to any curious players. The shield should show defense, repair pulse should show duration, minimum ranges for some weapons, etc.

    Well, for Repair Box specifically, the crit chance is shown in the game on its stats once you train Feelix's talent.

    More information is always better. it would be nice to have a full-screen "details" page that shows all of the statistics we can think of for a weapon. Including your personal damage done with it and games played, etc. This would have to be accessed after selecting a weapon in your inventory. That way we can keep the nice and simple info we have now, but also have all the juicy details.

    Yeah, I straightly claim: I don't want to spend many hours collecting the data. I can afford spending this time on analysis, but not doing the monkey job just because "the game released how it is, but donations are already available".

    That is why I ask questions and point out the low quality of UI design
