Can't update and now can't install app Error: 492

    Hello,
    I tried to install the update but either while downloading or after downloading I receive error 492 from Google play stating that it can't be downloaded. I tried the suggestions from Google which was to clear the app data and app cache but no luck. Tried rebooting the phone but no luck. Lastly I tried to uninstall the app but now I'm unable to install the app and again receive error 492. I'm able to update and install other apps so I don't believe this is a problem with Google Play or my phone but I could be mistaken.

    I looked through the forums as best I could but didn't see that anyone else reported this type of issue. Does anyone have any tips? Is this caused by the update?

    I'm running: Android 7.1.1 // OxygenOS 4.5.0 // Franco Kernel 3.18.31

    To be clear, I cleared the cache and data initially for Battle Bay. When that didn't work I did so for Google Play, then Google Services Framework. Lastly, I cleared/wiped the Dalvik cache and reset my phone. I still receive error 492.

    I try to install the game a few times a day but this unfortunately is still an ongoing issue. I'm not sure if it's related but it started when the new patch came out. There are still no issues installing or updating any other app via Google Play. Help! :)

    i did some research a while ago cause im getting the same error 492 while doing updates, some of my apps i follow this steps Solution No.2 since i do have SD card.

    i hope it helps you out guys if not.

    Additional steps to be done is to uninstall the updates on google play then update again..some of this basic troubleshooting will sort out the problem of course before you did this you need to have a strong connection.

    I got the same error today
    I downloaded in another phone ,and then shared the obb file and installation package to my phone ,and it work now

    @Melanie Alsop Thank you but I already tried those. My SD card is built-in so there is no removing it.
    @kurdish bndo Is your phone rooted or jail broken? I did some testing and noticed that when my phone is not rooted I can install updates without issue but as soon as I root the phone I can no longer install the same update.
